About the Organization
\nAfrica Call Organisation is a Zambian NGO dedicated to community-driven development. Our mission is to improve the lives of the most vulnerable, through a comprehensive CBR Program addressing the needs of children and youths with disability, with components in education, health, livelihoods, and community empowerment. Our team is looking for a reliable, independent, detail-oriented, and mission-driven Project Coordinator to ensure the effective implementation of the activities for a drought emergency response project in the District of Mumbwa and Chibombo.
\nDuties and Responsibilities
\nThe Nutrition Project Coordinator will be based in Chibombo and Mumbwa and will be responsible for implementing field activities at the district and community levels, under the direct supervision of the Project Manager. The Project Coordinator will serve as the primary focal point for coordinating project efforts with district stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health (MoH) and District Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) teams, gather information and implement all project activities at community level.
\nNutrition and Wash<\/p>\n
Support the implementation of the Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) program in partnership with identified GRZ rural health clinics
\nPlan and lead technical trainings for health workers and community health volunteers
\nOversee the distribution and the effective management of nutrition supplements among health facilities
\nCollaborate with WASH and public health teams to reinforce hygiene and sanitation initiatives in project communities
\nEnsure effective data collection from health facilities<\/p>\n
Infrastructure and Resource Management<\/p>\n
Support the procurement and supervision of infrastructure development, including borehole rehabilitation, shallow wells, toilet facilities, irrigation systems, grains storage facilities
\nMonitor construction progress and quality in collaboration with technical teams and contractors.<\/p>\n
Monitoring, Inclusion & Community Engagement<\/p>\n
Conduct community mapping and data collection to support the project\u2019s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework.
\nWork closely with DMMU and other local authorities to ensure alignment with district priorities and coordination efforts.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Promote the active inclusion of vulnerable groups, including women and persons with disabilities (PWDs), across all project components.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Facilitate community mobilization and local ownership of project activities.
\nAgriculture and livelihoods
\nSupport the Agriculture Coordinator to oversee the implementation of agriculture-related project activities at community level, liaising with MoA district officers, extension workers, and smallholder farmers in order to introduce and scale-up climate-smart agriculture (CSA) practices to enhance drought resilience.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
Degree or Diploma in Nutrition, Public Health, Nursing, Community Health, or a related field.
\nAt least 3 years of experience implementing nutrition-focused projects with NGOs or development agencies, preferably in rural or emergency contexts.
\nStrong understanding of IMAM protocols, community-based nutrition programming, and collaboration with public health systems.
\nKnowledge of the local health systems and nutrition challenges in rural Zambia, especially Central Province.
\nExcellent facilitation and community mobilization skills, particularly with women\u2019s groups, CHWs, and local leaders.
\nKnowledge of project management, budgeting and financial analysis, report writing, and M&E processes.
\nHighly independent and willing to be based in a rural field location (Mumbwa and Chibombo) and travel regularly within the project area.
\nStrong interpersonal and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with District Health Offices, health facility staff, and community structures.
\nAbility to collect and manage field data accurately, and to compile concise and clear reports
\nFluency in English and proficiency in local languages
\nPossession of a valid motorbike driver\u2019s license
\nFamiliarity with the administrative, cultural, and geographic context of Mumbwa and Chibombo districts.
