Redeem\u2019s mission is to protect widows and orphans from violent abuse and exploitation by:<\/p>\n
Awakening\u00a0the world to the need to defend the orphan and the widow in the twenty-first century;
\nAssembling\u00a0the resources needed to protect the world\u2019s most vulnerable widows and orphans;
\nAssisting\u00a0law enforcement in real cases that restore victims and restrain their abusers; and
\nAmplifying\u00a0law enforcement protection through community engagement and capacity building.<\/p>\n
We are currently implementing a program in Uganda to protect widows and orphans from the devastation of land grabbing.\u00a0 We are launching a 12 month pilot project in Zambia to determine if our intervention model would be effective in the Zambian context.
\nAs Redeem\u2019s Zambia Project Director, you will be responsible for leading the efforts of a talented multi-disciplinary team to pilot Redeem\u2019s intervention model to protect vulnerable widows and orphans from land grabbing. The pilot project\u2019s goal is to determine if Redeem\u2019s model can be sufficiently tailored to successfully operate in the Zambian legal and cultural context. If successful, Redeem will launch a full program following the completion of the 12 month pilot, aiming to create a deterrent impact that will drive down victimization rates among widows and orphans across the country. Specific responsibilities include:
\nLeadership<\/p>\n
Fostering a workplace culture in your casework team that is consistent with Redeem\u2019s mission and values;
\nEnsuring that all activities in Zambia are consistent with Redeem\u2019s program strategy and hedgehog principle;
\nSupporting the VP of Program Development and CEO in evaluating the success of the pilot project and, in the event of a successful pilot project, designing Redeem\u2019s long-term intervention strategy in Zambia;<\/p>\n
Team Management<\/p>\n
Supervising a multidisciplinary pilot team consisting of two investigators, two partnership managers, and one administrative specialist, ensuring that the team is well-coordinated and successful in achieving its goals;
\nManaging our partnership with an identified law firm, including the timely delivery of case litigation results;
\nCoordinating the efforts of pilot team staff to ensure the efficient allocation of resources and workload;
\nRecruiting, vetting, hiring, supervising, evaluating, disciplining and terminating pilot team staff members;
\nProviding team members with guidance on technical issues arising in their casework (e.g., intake decisions);
\nOverseeing the accurate and timely collection and reporting of team and individual performance data;
\nCollaborating with Redeem\u2019s VP of Program Development to measure the pilot team\u2019s performance;
\nEnsuring casework team compliance with internal policies and relevant statutes, laws and regulations;<\/p>\n
Advocacy<\/p>\n
Engaging local chiefs in the areas of our casework to ensure victim restoration;
\nRepresenting the team and the organization with political, cultural, and religious leaders in your project area;
\nEnsuring that the pilot team receives the operational and programmatic support it needs to succeed;
\nAdvocating on behalf of Redeem, its model, its team, its partners and its clients with relevant authorities;<\/p>\n
Miscellaneous<\/p>\n
Participating in Redeem\u2019s professional development and spiritual formation activities;
\nSupporting other teams within Redeem in the achievement of their objectives; and
\nCompleting other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n

\nExperience<\/p>\n
Required:\u00a0 Bachelor\u2019s degree or professional equivalent in program management, law or other relevant field,
\nRequired:\u00a0 Five or more years of professional experience in program management and\/or the justice sector;
\nPreferred: Two or more years of experience in team supervision and\/or program management;
\nPreferred: Experience in multiple justice-sector disciplines (e.g., law, investigations, social work, corrections)
\nPreferred: Hands-on experience with legal intervention models and\/or similar development programming;
\nPreferred: Experience working in start-up, international, matrixed and\/or faith-based organizations;<\/p>\n
Skills<\/p>\n
Required:\u00a0 Fluency in English and at least one local language with excellent written and oral communication;
\nRequired:\u00a0 Next-level leadership, emotional intelligence, and relationship building capacity;
\nRequired:\u00a0 Confidence-enhancing written work product, oral communication and public speaking;
\nRequired:\u00a0 Computer literacy with strong capacity in word processing, email and data analysis;
\nPreferred: Working knowledge of Zambia\u2019s legal system, penal code and land and\/or succession law;
\nPreferred: Knowledge of multiple justice-system related disciplines (investigations, law, social work)
\nPreferred: Understanding of Google business suite and digital project management tools;<\/p>\n
