The Pensions and Insurance Authority (\u201cthe Authority\u201d) is the regulatory and supervisory authority for the pensions and insurance industries in Zambia as provided for in the Pension Scheme Regulations Act No.28 of 1996 (as amended) and the Insurance Act No. 38 of 2021. The Authority supervises and regulates entities operating in the pensions and insurance sector. This includes insurance companies, reinsurance companies, insurance intermediaries, pension schemes, pension fund managers and pension fund administrators.
\nAs part of the organisation expansion, the Authority hereby invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following positions:-
\nLEGAL OFFICER \u2013 ENFORCEMENT AND LITIGATION\u00a0\u2013\u00a0ONE (1) POSITION
\nReporting to the Manager Legal Services, the Legal Officer Enforcement and Litigation will undertake enforcement of the law that the Authority administers and protect the interest of the Authority in order to ensure protection of pension scheme members and policyholders.
\nSpecific duties:-<\/p>\n
To effectively provide legal advice to the Authority in order to inform decision making on enforcement matters and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
\nTo effectively represent the Authority in enforcement matters in order to protect the Authority\u2019s interests
\nTo effectively undertake the preparation of case documents in order to facilitate prosecution
\nTo effectively coordinate with internal investigators and law enforcement agencies on the collection of evidence in order to facilitate successful enforcement
\nTo effectively\u00a0 participate in the sensitization of stakeholders in the compliance requirements under the Authority\u2019s regulatory framework in order to create awareness of consequences of contravention of legal provisions
\nTo effectively undertake\u00a0 the debt recovery legal process in order to facilitate the recovery of debt by the Authority
\nTo effectively supervise effectively the development of work plans and implementation of performance management systems in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance
\nTo effectively supervise timely human resource and utilization of other resources in order to ensure achievement of set objectives.<\/p>\n
Requirements: \u2013<\/p>\n
Full Form V\/Grade 12 Certificate with credit or better in Mathematics and English
\nBachelor\u2019s Degree in Law
\nAdvocate of the High Court
\nMember of the Law Association of Zambia
\nAt least 4 years relevant experience<\/p>\n
