The Conservation farming Unit (CFU) is a local organisation dedicated to supporting smallholder farmers through sustainable agricultural practices, promotion of agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, and climate-smart techniques to enhance productivity while fostering healthy ecosystems and ensuring resilient livelihoods. The CFU will be implementing a six-month project aimed at Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture for Improved Productivity and Sustainable Livelihoods, working together GIZ in 6 districts of Central and Southern provinces.

\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
Conduct field visits, demonstration plots management, field days and to assess good agricultural practices and provide tailored advice to farmers.
\nEnsure adoption of Conservation Agriculture practices and technology is increased among farmers.
\nAssist farmers in implementing good agricultural practices.
\nEnsure accuracy in data collection, analyzing and report writing.
\nFarmer training in Conservation Agriculture, Post Harvest technologies and Crop management.
\nMechanization Service Providers identification, screening and conducting MSP promotional events and road shows.
\nConduct Financial Literacy and Business training for farmer groups, facilitate market linkages and access to finance for target value chains.
\nWork closely with the private sector, In-community agents, Rural Agro-dealers and Crop Aggregators.
\nDistribute inputs, training materials and resources to farmers and other agricultural stakeholders.
\nCreate awareness and availability of improved seed varieties to farmers.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
Full Grade 12 Certificate.
\nMinimum of a Diploma in agriculture or better.
\nExperience in community mobilization and facilitation.
\nAt least 2 years of experience in conservation agriculture project implementation.
\nComputer literate
\nIn possession of the Motorbike rider\u2019s license and able to ride a motorbike.
\nA registered member of the Agriculture Institute of Zambia (AIZ).<\/p>\n
