We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Accountant to join our finance team.
\nJob Summary:
\nThe accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, assisting with budget preparation, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\nManage all accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
\nPrepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) by IFRS and local accounting standards.
\nAssist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
\nProcess payroll and ensure timely payment of salaries and statutory obligations (PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA, etc.).
\nPrepare and submit all statutory returns (VAT, WHT, Corporate Income Tax) accurately and on time.
\nReconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
\nSupport internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
\nMaintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
\nEnsure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant financial regulations.
\nContribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.
\nPerform other accounting duties as assigned by management.
\nQualifications and Experience:
\nBachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
\nMinimum 3\/5 years of progressive experience as an Accountant, preferably in the logistics Industry.
\nA ZICA professional qualification is highly desirable.
\nProficiency in accounting software (SAP) and Microsoft Excel (advanced level).
\nThorough knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Zambian tax laws.
\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.
\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
\nHigh level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.<\/p>\n
