\nAbout A Chance for Change Foundation
\nA Chance for Change Foundation (C4C) is a Zambian nonprofit organization that works to alleviate poverty by empowering communities through sustainable development. Our thematic areas include youth and women empowerment, climate resilience, agricultural entrepreneurship, digital inclusion, and education. We believe in amplifying the voices of the communities we serve and our social media platforms are a vital tool in achieving that goal.
\nAbout the Internship
\nThe Social Media Management Intern will play a key role in supporting the Foundation\u2019s digital outreach by coordinating platform content, engaging with online audiences, and tracking performance metrics. This internship is ideal for graduates looking to apply their knowledge in a real-world nonprofit environment.
\nInterns selected will also have the opportunity to rotate into Marketing and Creative Content Production roles, gaining diverse exposure across digital communication and campaign management.
\nKey Duties and Responsibilities
\nAs a Social Media Management Intern, your day-to-day tasks will include:
\nContent Calendar Planning<\/p>\n
Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar aligned with the organization\u2019s program themes and campaign objectives.
\nCoordinate with the marketing and creative teams to ensure a balanced mix of content types (e.g., awareness posts, testimonials, news updates).<\/p>\n
Content Publishing<\/p>\n
Draft and schedule posts across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube.
\nFormat content for platform-specific requirements (e.g., reels, carousels, stories, polls, live posts).
\nWrite engaging, informative, and inclusive captions that reflect the Foundation\u2019s voice.<\/p>\n
Community Engagement<\/p>\n
Monitor and respond to direct messages, comments, and mentions in a timely, courteous, and helpful manner.
\nFlag inappropriate or urgent messages to the Communications or Programs teams for escalation.
\nFoster online relationships with youth groups, donors, partners, and peer organizations.<\/p>\n
Trend Monitoring and Campaign Alignment<\/p>\n
Research current trends, hashtags, and best practices in nonprofit communications.
\nPropose opportunities to leverage trends for storytelling, advocacy, or program highlights.
\nCollaborate on \u201creal-time\u201d social content for events, holidays, and campaigns.<\/p>\n
Performance Monitoring and Analytics<\/p>\n
Track daily, weekly, and monthly analytics such as reach, engagement, shares, and click-throughs using tools like Meta Insights, Bitly, and Google Analytics.
\nCompile clear, data-driven reports to evaluate impact and recommend improvements.
\nIdentify top-performing content and provide ideas to scale or repurpose it.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Completed a degree in Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
\nDemonstrated interest in social change, community development, or digital media.
\nStrong written communication skills and creativity.
\nProficiency in at least 2 social media platforms for professional use.
\nBasic familiarity with digital tools like Canva, Meta Business Suite, Buffer, or Hootsuite is an advantage.
\nOrganized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working remotely or independently.<\/p>\n
