{"id":4253,"date":"2025-07-10T20:02:19","date_gmt":"2025-07-10T20:02:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zambia\/job\/legal-officer-at-national-legal-aid-clinic-for-women\/"},"modified":"2025-10-06T00:13:51","modified_gmt":"2025-10-06T00:13:51","slug":"legal-officer-at-national-legal-aid-clinic-for-women","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zambia\/?post_type=job_listing&p=4253","title":{"rendered":"Legal Officer at National Legal Aid Clinic for Women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Legal Aid Clinic for Women (NLACW) is a Project of the Law Association of Zambia which was established to provide affordable legal representation to women and children from marginalized social sectors.\u00a0 The overall objective of the NLACW is to empower women by facilitating their access to legal rights by way of legal representation, counselling, legal and human rights education as a distinct but integral part of the women\u2019s movement.<br \/>\nNLACW seeks to recruit a qualified and experienced Legal Officer:<br \/>\nReporting to: Senior Legal Officer<br \/>\nJob Purpose: The Legal Officer plays a pivotal role in achieving the organization\u2019s strategic objectives, including improving access to legal and human rights information, providing legal representation for vulnerable women and children, advocating for responsive policy and legal frameworks, and enhancing institutional development.<br \/>\nResponsibilities:<br \/>\n1. Legal Representation<br \/>\nProvide legal representation to vulnerable women and children by way of commencement matters in court<br \/>\nRepresent clients in court proceedings, mediation, and negotiation sessions.<br \/>\nProvide legal advice to clients<br \/>\nAttend to new clients and follow up cases<br \/>\n2. Legal and Human Rights Awareness<br \/>\nDevelop and implement programs to disseminate legal and human rights information to target communities.<br \/>\nConduct community sensitization workshops, training sessions, and public forums to raise awareness of legal rights and services.<br \/>\nDevelop and distribute informational materials, including brochures and guides, on legal and human rights issues.<br \/>\n3. Policy and Legislative Engagement<br \/>\nParticipate in the review and drafting of responsive policies and legal frameworks in line with organizational goals.<br \/>\nProvide expert legal input on proposed legislative changes affecting women\u2019s and children\u2019s rights.<br \/>\nEngage with stakeholders, including policymakers, government agencies, and civil society, to advocate for necessary reforms.<br \/>\n4. Participate in Programmes.<br \/>\nParticipate in outreach programmes including planning<br \/>\nParticipate in mobile clinics<br \/>\n5. Monitoring, Reporting, and Evaluation<br \/>\nMaintain accurate records of all legal activities and prepare regular reports on case outcomes and program impact.<br \/>\nMonitor and evaluate the effectiveness of legal programs and provide recommendations for improvement.<br \/>\nContribute to the organization\u2019s strategic planning and annual review processes.<br \/>\nSupport completion of monthly reports for submission to management<br \/>\nQualifications and Requirements:<br \/>\nBachelor\u2019s degree in Law from a recognized institution.<br \/>\nAdmission to the Bar as a practicing advocate.<br \/>\nMust have a practicing license<br \/>\nStrong analytical, research, and communication skills.<br \/>\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.<br \/>\nExcellent time management and organizational skills.<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
