The Zambian Open University (ZAOU) is an institution of high standing both locally and internationally, whose vision is \u201cto be an internationally recognized University providing quality education through full-time, Open and distance, and blended learning\u2019\u2019. The University is now looking for self-motivated, suitably qualified individuals to fill up the position of Lecturer in the following Schools:
\n1. School of Business
\na) Lecturer in Accounting and Finance
\nb) Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Business Administration
\n2. School of Humanities and Social Sciences
\na) Lecturer in Development Studies
\nb) Lecturer in Public Administration
\n3. School of Agricultural Sciences
\na) Lecturer in Plant Science
\nb) Lecturer in Agricultural Economics
\nReports to: Dean of the School
\nRole Overview: To deliver high-quality teaching and significantly contribute to the academic development by instructing both undergraduate and graduate modules. The aim is to provide exceptional education and training, fostering students\u2019 growth to become future leaders in industry.
\nKey Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Deliver comprehensive lectures and tutorials.
\nDevelop and continuously update course materials and curricula to align with current academic and industry standards.
\nEvaluate and grade student assignments, projects, and examinations with fairness and timeliness.
\nOffer academic support and mentorship to students, including guidance on
\nacademic and career development.
\nEngage in scholarly research and contribute to the academic community through publications and presentations, while also participating in public initiatives.
\nParticipate actively in departmental meetings, committees, and other University activities.
\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and
\nattendance.
\nStay abreast of advancements in the relevant subject field and integrate relevant knowledge into teaching practices.
\nUtilize technology effectively to support blended learning, including online
\nteaching platforms and digital resources.
\nFoster an engaging and interactive online learning environment to enhance
\nstudent participation and learning outcomes.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate with 5 \u2018O\u2019 levels with Credit or better, including English
\nand Mathematics; or its equivalent.
\nMaster\u2019s degree within the specialized fields of Business, Social Sciences, and Agricultural Sciences.
\nA Doctorate (Ph.D.) is preferred.
\nMust have a Diploma in Teaching Methodology.
\nMembership in a relevant Professional Body.
\nAt least three years teaching in a university or equivalent industry experience.
\nProven experience in curriculum development.
\nStrong research and publications record.
\nExperience with blended learning (online and face-to-face).<\/p>\n
