{"id":4343,"date":"2025-07-16T16:00:23","date_gmt":"2025-07-16T16:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zambia\/job\/retail-assistant-at-builders-warehouse-kitwe\/"},"modified":"2025-10-11T00:14:31","modified_gmt":"2025-10-11T00:14:31","slug":"retail-assistant-at-builders-warehouse-kitwe","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zambia\/?post_type=job_listing&p=4343","title":{"rendered":"Retail Assistant at Builders Warehouse Kitwe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cWe encourage people with disabilities to apply.\u201d<br \/>\nSummary:<br \/>\nFunctions \/ Responsibilities:<br \/>\nSatisfy internal and external customers<br \/>\nApproach and greet customers as required when working on the floor and respond to their queries and<br \/>\nrequests according to our culture of service to customers<br \/>\nAssist customers by taking them to a sales consultant who can provide them with in depth product knowledge<br \/>\nand guidance<br \/>\nCarry out duties at the Information Desk as and when scheduled in an efficient manner ensuring that<br \/>\nknowledge of in-store promotions, store lay out and store management teams is up to date<br \/>\nAssist customers with price queries<br \/>\nResolve queries on incorrect pricing\/shelf edge ticketing<br \/>\nReport to Front End Manager and Sales Manager if barcodes for specific items are incorrect on the system so<br \/>\nthat they can be overridden on the system.<br \/>\nAssist with cashiering<br \/>\nConduct cashiering duties from time to time as scheduled in order to reduce pressure on front line during peak<br \/>\ntrading times<br \/>\nUnderstand all policies and procedures pertaining to handling cash floats and cashing up at the end of a shift<br \/>\nCollect the float and check the seal number of the float bag to the previous day\u2019s control<br \/>\nObtain a Deposit client card from the banking clerk, record the number on the float register and sign for it<br \/>\nwhen applicable<br \/>\nOpen the float bag, count the float, report any discrepancies to the banking clerk and ensure that these are<br \/>\nRecorded on the float register which must be signed together with the banking clerk.<br \/>\nEnsure that float has enough change before proceeding to the till point. Work only on own float, placing it in<br \/>\nthe till drawer and ensuring that the till drawer is locked and sealed in a till drawer float bag when proceeding<br \/>\nTo and from the banking office. Ensure that a security guard escorts you from the banking office to the till<br \/>\nPoint.<br \/>\nLog in the terminal using your own user ID and password, put the till drawer with the float into the till and lock<br \/>\nThe till. Keep the till drawer float bag until the end of the day.<br \/>\nCheck your stationery and ensure that you have staples, till rolls and pen, as well as BoE till rolls. Adherence<br \/>\nto float collection procedures<br \/>\nProcess all sales accurately and according to the laid down business processes which includes collection and<br \/>\ndelivery sales, sale of gift vouchers and airtime, ringing up correct quantities (especially on items sold in<br \/>\nmeters) and scanning one item at a time accurately, price differences, incorrect barcodes, items that go below<br \/>\ncost, requests for discount, ringing up of repairs<br \/>\nAccept the following types of tender and process accurately according to laid down business processes:<br \/>\ncredit\/ debit cards, cash, cheque, vouchers (refund\/ gift vouchers), money transfers, accounts, receipt on<br \/>\naccounts, discounts.<br \/>\nPick, pack and count stock<br \/>\nPack stock from the Receiving and Stock back up areas onto the sales floor on the correct shelves with the<br \/>\ncorrect number of facings<br \/>\nPlace the pricing tickets correctly below the stock for customers to see<br \/>\nInform the line manager where pricing tickets are missing so that these can be printed and placed<br \/>\nIdentify damaged stock and inform the line manager so that the necessary process can be implemented.<br \/>\nEnsure that customers\u2019 goods are packed into the trolley.<br \/>\nCarry out verbal orders\/instructions from your line manager at all times and if not sure about how to carry out a<br \/>\ntask, request assistance from your line manager or other senior staff member<br \/>\nAssist stock control team with stock count and stock take preparation<br \/>\nConduct stock counts in various departments as required and complete relevant documentation for the Stock<br \/>\nControl team<br \/>\nAssist customers with picking and packing stock in the Despatch area<br \/>\nHouse keeping<br \/>\nMaintain housekeeping standards by ensuring that aisles are neat and tidy and well merchandised according<br \/>\nto the correct merchandising standards<br \/>\nEnsure stock is packed in allocated areas as soon as possible so as not to be left in the aisles<br \/>\nPerform general cleaning duties to ensure that aisles and shelves are presentable<br \/>\nRequirements:<br \/>\nMinimum Academic, Professional Qualifications and Experience required for this position<br \/>\nGrade 12 Certificate<br \/>\nProduct Knowledge Training<br \/>\n1-2 years\u2019 experience<br \/>\nMust demonstrate willingness to learn<br \/>\nExcellent customer service orientation and high integrity<br \/>\nAttention to detail and ability to work under pressure<br \/>\nAbility to Build and influence others<br \/>\nCompetencies:<br \/>\nProduct Knowledge<br \/>\nSelling skills<br \/>\nTeam Player<br \/>\nCommunication skills<br \/>\nPerform under pressure<br \/>\nAdaptability and Ability to Build and influence others<br \/>\nStrengthen Reputation, Ensure customer \/ Member centred Performance<br \/>\nEnsure Execution and Achieve Results<br \/>\nDevelop Talent Network Internally and Externally Customer focused.<br \/>\n\u201cEmployment Equity Policy Requirements may be applicable\u201d<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
