1.ROLE IDENTIFICATION
\nJOB TITLE: ACCOUNTANT
\nDIRECT REPORTS TO:
\nCHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
\n2.\u00a0 JOB PURPOSE
\nMagnum Security Company is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accountant to oversee the company\u2019s financial operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, compliance with statutory regulations, timely reporting, and effective financial management to support the company\u2019s operational goals.
\n3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
Maintain and update accurate financial records in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Zambian statutory requirements.
\nPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports for internal and external stakeholders.
\nProcess payroll and ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA, and Workers\u2019 Compensation.
\nManage invoicing, receipting, and debt collections from clients.
\nOversee accounts payable and receivable, and ensure timely payments and collections.
\nReconcile bank accounts, petty cash, and other company accounts regularly.
\nPrepare and submit tax returns to ZRA (VAT, Withholding Tax, Income Tax) accurately and on time.
\nSupport the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
\nAssist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for the company.
\nEnsure proper financial controls, documentation, and adherence to company policies.
\nWork closely with operations to align financial practices with the company\u2019s service delivery.<\/p>\n

\n5. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum<\/p>\n
Grade 12 certificate with minimum of 5 \u2018O\u2019 credits or better in Mathematics or English
\nDiploma or Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
\nProfessional qualification (ZICA, ACCA, CIMA) \u2013 Full or part-qualified.<\/p>\n
6.EXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n
Minimum of 3 years\u2019 experience in a similar role, preferably in the security services or related sector.<\/p>\n

Strong understanding of Zambian tax laws and statutory compliance.
\nHigh level of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

\nGood communication and interpersonal skills.<\/p>\n
