Zambart staff form an interdisciplinary team with a range of expertise including epidemiology, clinical science, social science, laboratory, operations research, health systems and services research, health policy analysis, health economics, health communication and counselling.<br \/>\nZambart\u2019 s vision is to conduct quality interdisciplinary health research on issues of public health importance Zambia and contribute to improving health policy and practice leading to better health for all.<br \/>\nOur mission is to contribute to global public health policy and practice through the generation of an evidence based by conducting high-quality health research in Zambia.<br \/>\nTo support our wide range of research activities, we are looking for an ambitious, suitably qualified candidate to fill the following exciting position that has arisen:<br \/>\nPosition: Clinical Officers (02)<br \/>\nReporting To: Study Manager<br \/>\nJob Location: Lusaka \u2013 Kanyama First Level Hospital<br \/>\nJob Summary<br \/>\nZambart is conducting a randomized diagnostic accuracy study evaluating lung ultrasound (LUS) as a point-of-care tool for the diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB). The study will assess the diagnostic performance of different ultrasound protocols and probe types and is being implemented at Kanyama First Level Hospital in Lusaka.<br \/>\nWe are seeking experienced Clinical Officers to support the implementation of this study, including participant recruitment, clinical assessments, and collaboration with the hospital team.<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities include and not limited to:<br \/>\n1.\u00a0Clinical and Research Duties:<\/p>\n<p>Conduct informed consent discussions and obtain written consent from study participants.<br \/>\nPerform clinical evaluations of participants including history taking, physical examination, and symptom screening.<br \/>\nAccurately document clinical and sonographic findings in study of CRFs and electronic data systems.<br \/>\nAssist in sputum sample collection, TB testing procedures, and follow-up referrals, where necessary<br \/>\nMonitor for and report adverse events according to study procedures.<br \/>\nWork collaboratively with hospital staff to ensure smooth integration of study procedures within clinical care.<br \/>\nParticipate in quality assurance activities<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0Operational and Administrative Support:<\/p>\n<p>Maintain participant logs and ensure accurate and timely data entry.<br \/>\nReport daily study progress and any challenges encountered to the study manager<br \/>\nParticipate in regular study team meetings, refresher training, and site monitoring visits.<br \/>\nEnsure confidentiality and ethical handling of participant data and biological samples.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications and Experience<br \/>\nEssential Requirements:<\/p>\n<p>Diploma or Degree in Clinical Medical Sciences (Clinical Officer General or equivalent)<br \/>\nRegistered with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ)<br \/>\nMinimum 2 years of post-qualification clinical experience<br \/>\nPrior experience in TB diagnosis and management<br \/>\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills<br \/>\nFluency in English and Nyanja or Bemba<br \/>\nBasic computer literacy (data entry, MS Word, Excel)<\/p>\n<p>Desirable:<\/p>\n<p>Experience in research or clinical trials<br \/>\nPrior training or experience in point-of-care ultrasound<br \/>\nGCP (Good Clinical Practice) certification<\/p>\n<p>Sharing is Caring!
