\nAbout the role:
\nOur client is seeking a person that can work on a part-time basis as a Junior Consultant that can ensure all financial reporting is in full compliance with the local and IAS, corporate tax, legal and statutory requirements.
\nKey Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Cash book postings;
\nBank reconciliations
\nBy 25 th of each month, preparing draft payroll on FlexPayroll (after receipt of adjusted payroll details from MD) and forwarding to SFA, cc: MD, for review; with SFA and MD approval, initialize payroll on AbsaAccess;
\nBy the 4 th work day of the following month,<\/p>\n
\u00a0i) submit returns for all statutory payments (including NAPSA, NHIMA, PAYE, WCFCB),
\nii) forward all PRNs to MD, cc: SFA, for payment; and
\niii) print out and distribute all payslips to staff;<\/p>\n
Filing with all payment vouchers;
\nPayroll journals into Sage Pastel;
\nDepreciation journals into Sage Pastel;
\nPreparation and filing of Withholding Tax Returns, where applicable, not later than 4th working day of the month
\nAdditional tasks reasonably related to the scope of accounting services, as pre-approved by the SFA or MD<\/p>\n
Qualifications:<\/p>\n
Diploma or Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution (e.g., ZCAS, UNZA, NIPA, or ACCA Level II\/III).
\nPractical experience (1\u20132 years) with:<\/p>\n
Cash book posting and bank reconciliations
\nPayroll preparation using systems like FlexPayroll or similar
\nStatutory return preparation and submission (NAPSA, NHIMA, PAYE, WCFCB)<\/p>\n
Familiarity with accounting software, especially:<\/p>\n
Sage Pastel (for journal entries)
\nAbsaAccess (for payroll initialization)<\/p>\n
Basic understanding of Zambian tax regulations and statutory compliance requirements (e.g. Withholding Tax, corporate tax)
\nAbility to work part-time and independently on weekends, with strong attention to deadlines (e.g., payroll by 25th, filings by 4th working day).<\/p>\n
Compensation:
\nThe incumbent will receive a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
