\nJob Purpose
\nThe Wireless Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, optimizing, and maintaining wireless network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, cellular (4G\/5G), and IoT solutions. This role ensures high-performance, secure, and scalable wireless connectivity while troubleshooting issues and implementing best practices.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n1. Wireless Network Design & Deployment
\nPlan and design enterprise-grade wireless networks (Wi-Fi 6\/6E, LTE\/5G, private cellular networks).
\nConduct RF site surveys, predictive modeling, and spectrum analysis using tools like Ekahau, AirMagnet, or iBwave.
\nDeploy and configure wireless controllers, access points (APs), and mesh networks (Cisco, Aruba, Ruckus, Juniper Mist, etc.).
\nEnsure seamless integration with core networks, firewalls, and cloud services.
\n2. Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting
\nMonitor and analyze wireless network performance (throughput, latency, roaming, interference).
\nOptimize RF coverage, channel planning, and power settings for maximum efficiency.
\nTroubleshoot connectivity, authentication (WPA3, 802.1X), and roaming issues.
\nUse packet capture tools (Wireshark, Omnipeek) for deep-dive analysis.
\n3. Security & Compliance
\nImplement wireless security best practices (WPA3, RADIUS, NAC, IDS\/IPS).
\nEnsure compliance with FCC, IEEE, and industry standards (802.11ac\/ax\/be, 3GPP).
\nPerform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on wireless networks.
\n4. Automation & Documentation
\nDevelop scripts (Python, Bash) for automated network monitoring and configuration.
\nMaintain network diagrams, SOPs, and audit reports.
\nWork with SDN (Software-Defined Networking) and cloud-managed wireless solutions.
\n5. Collaboration & Support
\nWork with cross-functional teams (IT, Security, DevOps) to align wireless solutions with business needs.
\nProvide Level 3 support for complex wireless issues.
\nMentor junior engineers and assist in training.
\nQualifications & Skills
\nEducation & Experience
\nBachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
\n3+ years of hands-on experience in wireless networking (enterprise Wi-Fi, cellular, IoT).
\nIndustry certifications preferred:
\nCWNP (CWNA, CWSP, CWDP)
\nCisco (CCNA\/CCNP Wireless)
\nAruba (ACMA, ACCP, ACMP)
\nExtreme Networks (EWP)
\nTechnical Skills
\nStrong knowledge of TCP\/IP, VLANs, QoS, VPNs, and routing protocols.
\nExperience with Wi-Fi analyzers (Ekahau, NetAlly, MetaGeek Chanalyzer).
\nFamiliarity with 5G\/LTE core networks, IoT protocols (LoRaWAN, Zigbee, BLE) is a plus.
\nCloud wireless solutions (Cisco Meraki, Aruba Central, Mist AI) experience preferred.
\nSoft Skills
\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills.
\nExcellent communication (written & verbal) for technical documentation and stakeholder updates.
\nAbility to work independently and in a team.
\nWork Environment
