The organization currently manages 23 national parks and protected areas across 13 countries in Africa, covering over 20 million hectares. These include Angola, Benin, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, Republic of Congo, Rwanda, South Sudan, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.<br \/>\nPosition Summary<br \/>\nThe Conservation Information Analyst will support intelligence gathering and investigative operations within Kafue National Park. The role is focused on enhancing tactical and operational decision-making through effective data collection, analysis, and reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing actionable intelligence to guide law enforcement efforts and support the park\u2019s strategic objectives.<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities<br \/>\nIdentify information gaps based on Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIRs) and coordinate intelligence assets such as the Intelligence Investigation Team, Aviation, and Ranger units.<br \/>\nAnalyze collected data to detect trends, patterns, and wildlife crime hotspots.<br \/>\nDevelop intelligence products including threat assessments, crime maps, and profiles of key individuals and criminal networks.<br \/>\nMaintain and manage a structured database for improved data accessibility and analytical efficiency.<br \/>\nPrepare and deliver analytical reports and presentations to support investigations and potential prosecutions.<br \/>\nProduce and disseminate timely intelligence reports, plans, and briefings to internal stakeholders and external partners.<br \/>\nApply the latest analytical models and methodologies to enhance operational effectiveness.<br \/>\nCollaborate with relevant agencies (e.g., Department of National Parks and Wildlife, Zambia Police, conservation NGOs) in coordination with the Law Enforcement Advisor and Mentor.<br \/>\nMonitor and evaluate law enforcement trends and activities using data-driven insights.<br \/>\nGuide data collection efforts to align with intelligence needs, including standardizing ontologies, data fields, and reporting formats.<br \/>\nProvide intelligence-based recommendations to support investigative planning and law enforcement actions.<br \/>\nPerform additional tasks as assigned by the Law Enforcement Advisor or Mentor.<br \/>\nQualifications and Experience<br \/>\nBachelor\u2019s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Criminology, Data Science, Conservation, Law Enforcement).<br \/>\nPrior experience in intelligence analysis, preferably related to wildlife crime, military, or police work.<br \/>\nAdvanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.<br \/>\nStrong computer literacy with proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Earth Ranger, ArcGIS, R, Tableau, or similar.<br \/>\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.<br \/>\nFamiliarity with Zambian wildlife laws and regulations is a plus.<br \/>\nPrevious experience working in protected areas is desirable.<br \/>\nKey Competencies<br \/>\nProfessional Curiosity: Ability to explore data thoroughly and ask probing questions.<br \/>\nAttention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and commitment to quality.<br \/>\nAnalytical Thinking: Strong capability in identifying patterns and deriving insights from complex datasets.<br \/>\nInvestigative Skills: Understanding of investigative procedures and intelligence-gathering techniques.<br \/>\nTeamwork: Effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.<br \/>\nIntegrity: High ethical standards and professionalism.<br \/>\nPhysical Fitness: Willingness and ability to operate in challenging field environments.<br \/>\nInterpersonal Skills: Ability to build positive working relationships across all levels.<br \/>\nOrganizational Ability: Strong planning, counseling, and negotiation skills.<br \/>\nApplication Instructions<br \/>\nAfrican Parks Zambia is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates regardless of gender, age, or background.
