VACANCY RECRUITMENT \u2013 INTERNAL AUDIT OFFICER
\nJob Title: Internal Audit Officer
\nDepartment: Internal Audit
\nReports to: Internal Audit Manager
\nLocation: Lusaka, Zambia
\nJob Summary:
\nThe Internal Audit Officer is responsible for conducting audits to ensure the company\u2019s operations comply with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations. This role involves evaluating financial and operational processes, identifying risks, and recommending improvements to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\n1. Audit Planning and Execution
\n\u00a7 Develop and implement audit plans to assess various departments.
\n\u00a7 Conduct comprehensive audits to evaluate areas including financial reporting, budgeting, treasury operations, cybersecurity, system controls, data integrity, regulatory adherence, KYC checks, HR policies, facility management, strategy alignment, business development, product design, pricing models, debt recovery processes, loan delinquency management, service quality, complaint resolution, loan underwriting, risk assessment, audit reporting, contract management, legal compliance, risk management frameworks, process efficiency, fraud prevention, sales ethics, and marketing compliance.
\n2. Risk Assessment
\n\u00a7 Identify and assess potential risks across the organisation and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
\n\u00a7 Evaluate the effectiveness of existing risk management frameworks and suggest improvements.
\n3. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence
\n\u00a7 Ensure that all operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
\n\u00a7 Conduct regular reviews of compliance processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement.
\n4. Audit Reporting
\n\u00a7 Prepare clear and concise audit reports detailing findings, recommendations, and action plans.
\n\u00a7 Present audit results to the Internal Audit Manager and other stakeholders as required.
\n5. Continuous Improvement
\n\u00a7 Collaborate with department heads to implement audit recommendations and drive continuous improvement.
\n\u00a7 Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure the audit function remains effective and relevant.
\nQualifications and Requirements:
\nEducation: Diploma\/Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Risk Management, Information Systems, LLB or a related field.
\nProfessional certifications such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), IAP (Internal Audit Practitioner), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), ZICA or ACCA are an added bonus.
\nExperience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in auditing, internal controls, risk management, fraud and fraud prevention, compliance, cybersecurity, process improvement and coordination, data integrity, financial services or fintech industry.
\nSkills:
\n\u00a7 Thorough and detail oriented.
\n\u00a7 Strong emotional and intrapersonal intelligence.
\n\u00a7 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
\n\u00a7 Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
\n\u00a7 Demonstrate cultural sensitivity; Ready to learn, adopt and embrace new culture.
\n\u00a7 Appropriately exercise professional scepticism.
\n\u00a7 Able to abide by confidentiality standards.
\n\u00a7 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
\n\u00a7 Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
\n\u00a7 Ability to effectively communicate with individuals of different races, positions, ethnicities, education, backgrounds, and experience.
