The role ensures timely receivables, minimized bad debt exposure and continuous improvement of credit governance and reporting structure.<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>Develop and implement the company\u2019s overall credit control strategy ensuring alignment with cash flow and revenue projections.<br \/>\nAssess creditworthiness of new and existing clients through detailed financial analysis and risk evaluation.<br \/>\nApprove or recommend credit limits and terms based on policy and risk profile.<br \/>\nSupervise and support the credit team in reviewing applications and managing client accounts.<br \/>\nProvide leadership and strategic direction to the credit control team to ensure timely collections and minimize bad debt.<br \/>\nMaintain a professional and courteous approach when dealing with customers in all credit-related communications<br \/>\nDevelop and implement effective credit control policies, training manuals and procedures for credit operations<br \/>\nMonitor accounts for payment delinquencies and coordinate collection strategies.<br \/>\nSet monthly collection targets for credit team and monitor branch level performance<br \/>\nEffectively manage the credit risk portfolio by leading annual review and stress testing<br \/>\nConduct regular performance reviews and training sessions for credit control staff.<br \/>\nPerform monthly analysis on of Days Sales Outstanding DOS, Customer payment Trends and segment specific risks<br \/>\nChair monthly credit control meetings with Finance and operation stakeholders<br \/>\nPrepare and present monthly credit reports, risk assessments, and recommendations to senior management.<br \/>\nEnsure compliance with company credit policies and relevant regulatory requirements.<br \/>\nMaintain updated knowledge of market trends and economic factors affecting credit risk.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications &amp; Experience:<\/p>\n<p>ACCA, CIMA, ZICA, or equivalent accounting qualification.<br \/>\nMinimum 5 years\u2019 experience in credit control or receivables management, preferably in a commercial environment with at least 2 years in a senior role.<br \/>\nProven experience in credit control leadership with a track record of improving collection cycles and implementing credit policy framework<br \/>\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Navision experience is an added advantage).<br \/>\nExcellent negotiation, decision making, communication, and analytical skills.<br \/>\nAbility to work well in a team<br \/>\nA problem-solver with attention to detail skills<\/p>\n<p>DESIRABLE QUALITIES:<\/p>\n<p>Strong ethical standards and a high level of integrity and accountability.<br \/>\nAbility to work independently and under pressure.<br \/>\nDetail-oriented with strong organizational skills.<br \/>\nStrategic thinker with the ability to make sound credit decisions.<br \/>\nTeam player who can inspire, coach, and guide others.<br \/>\nStrong interpersonal skills for building effective relationships across departments.<br \/>\nResults-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.<br \/>\nGood judgment and decision-making ability<\/p>\n<p>Sharing is Caring!
