1. Background
\nAlliance for Children Everywhere Zambia (ACE Zambia) is a child-focused organization committed to keeping children in safe, loving families. We work to prevent family separation, respond to crises, and provide long-term support where needed. To achieve these goals, we need strong and reliable financial systems. To support this work, we are looking for a Finance Intern who is eager to learn and contribute to our finance team while gaining valuable hands-on experience.
\n2. Purpose of the Internship
\nThe Finance Intern will work alongside the Finance Department to support day-to-day finance operations. This includes assisting with record-keeping, processing transactions, and helping ensure compliance with internal and statutory requirements. The role is designed to give the intern practical skills and exposure to real-world financial management in a non-profit setting.
\n3. Objectives of the Internship<\/p>\n
Learn how financial records are maintained and updated.
\nAssist with data entry, reconciliations, and other finance tasks.
\nSupport compliance processes such as PAYE, NAPSA, and tax-related submissions.
\nGain experience using accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.<\/p>\n
4. Scope of Work<\/p>\n
Under the supervision of the Finance Officer, the Finance Intern will:
\nHelp organize and record financial transactions accurately.
\nAssist in preparing payment vouchers and related documentation.
\nSupport bank reconciliations and petty cash tracking.
\nEnter financial data into QuickBooks.
\nHelp with filing, document management, and audit preparation.
\nPerform other finance-related tasks as needed.<\/p>\n
5. Expected Outputs<\/p>\n
Accurate and timely data entry in QuickBooks.
\nThorough, organized and up-to-date financial records.
\nCompleted reconciliations and compliance documentation ready for review.<\/p>\n
6. Qualifications and Skills<\/p>\n
Recently graduated with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
\nBasic understanding of accounting concepts.
\nComfortable using Microsoft Excel; QuickBooks knowledge is a plus.
\nDetail-oriented and organized.
\nHonest, discreet, and able to work well in a team.<\/p>\n
7. Duration and Work Conditions<\/p>\n
Duration: 6 months
\nLocation: ACE Zambia Head Office, Lusaka
\nHours: Monday\u2013Friday, 08:00\u201317:00<\/p>\n
8. Stipend<\/p>\n
A modest allowance will be provided to cover basic costs during the internship.<\/p>\n
9. Reporting
\nThe Finance Intern will report to the Finance Officer and work closely with the rest of the Finance Team.
