1. Background
\nAlliance for Children Everywhere Zambia (ACE Zambia) is a child-focused organization committed to ensuring that every vulnerable child in Zambia grows up in a safe, loving, and permanent family environment. Through its programs, ACE Zambia works to prevent family separation, respond to crises, and provide long-term support to families and communities.
\nThe ACE Transition Partners (ACE TP) initiative focuses on supporting children, organizations, and institutions of care for children as they transition from institutional care to family and community based care. ACE TP works through capacity-building, strategic partnerships, research, and direct engagement with stakeholders, including Care Leavers and the National Child Care and Family Support Network.
\nTo strengthen its coordination, documentation, and partnership activities, ACE Zambia seeks an ACE TP Intern who will gain hands-on experience in organizational support, financial reporting, event management, and partnership coordination.
\n2. Purpose of the Internship
\nThe ACE TP Intern will support the ACE TP department with documentation, event coordination, financial reporting, and partner engagement. The role is designed to provide the intern with a broad understanding of program management and stakeholder coordination in the child protection and family strengthening sector while contributing to ACE Zambia\u2019s mission.
\n3. Objectives of the Internship<\/p>\n
Gain practical experience in managing program documentation and reporting.
\nDevelop skills in organizing events, coordinating networks, and managing partnerships.
\nLearn the processes of financial reporting and compliance in a non-profit environment.
\nSupport initiatives that strengthen child- and family-focused care transitions in Zambia.
\n4. Scope of Work<\/p>\n
Under the supervision of the Director \u2013 ACE TP (Strategy and Systems\/Partnerships and Program Quality), the ACE TP Intern will:<\/p>\n
Organize and maintain ACE TP documentation and establish systematic filing systems.
\nSupport the delivery of presentations during trainings as directed.
\nUpdate and maintain the ACE TP partner list, categorizing partnerships appropriately.
\nAssist in preparing monthly financial returns, reconciliations, and reports.
\nDraft activity reports following events and initiatives, incorporating feedback and lessons learned.
\nProvide guidance to partners on ACE TP approaches during transition processes.
\nCoordinate and facilitate Care Leavers\u2019 meetings and document their progress toward forming an association.
\nAssist in coordinating activities of the National Child Care and Family Support Network and related organizations, including meeting facilitation and record-keeping.
\nDocument the evolution and milestones of Care Leavers\u2019 initiatives and Network development.
\n5. Expected Outputs
\nAccurate and up-to-date ACE TP documentation and partner database.
\nComprehensive and timely activity reports.
\nFinancial returns and reconciliations completed accurately and submitted on time.
\nSuccessful coordination and documentation of Care Leavers\u2019 and Network activities.
\n6. Qualifications and Skills
\nRecently graduated with a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, or a related field.
\nStrong organizational and multitasking abilities.
\nExcellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.
\nProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ICT skills are an advantage.
\nStrategic and analytical thinking skills.
\nCommitment to ACE Zambia\u2019s mission and values.
\n7. Duration and Work Conditions
\nDuration: 6 months
\nLocation: ACE Zambia Head Office, Lusaka
\nHours: Monday\u2013Friday, 08:00\u201317:00
\nWork Environment: Standard office environment with occasional event and field coordination

A modest allowance will be provided to cover basic costs during the internship.
