\nThe successful candidate will be reporting to the Risk and Optimization Manager.
\nThe Chief Accountant will be based in Lusaka, at CCO Lusaka.
\nJOB PURPOSE:
\nThe Chief Accountant ensures the credibility of the accounts of the company in accordance with the standards determined by management, while verifying the work provided by the accounting teams.
\nMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
Review cash and bank reconciliations at least twice every week.
\nReconcile collections against receipting and provide updates to management\u00a0\u00a0 Ensure all debtors, suppliers and General Ledger are properly reconciled.
\nReview and approve inventory reconciliation.
\nEnsure all taxes reconciliations are up to date.
\nPrepare ratio and variance analysis on Debtors, payables, stocks, income statement, balance sheet etc and provide explanations and recommend actions.
\nAddress queries from group control team in respect of accounting reports data.
\nEnhance the accuracy of the financial reports, and ensure that reported results comply with company policies and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
\nPrepare Retail Report (OEZL) monthly.
\nPrepare B2b reports monthly.
\nAnalyse customer margins and ensure they are aligned to approved price build up. Report any variances monthly.
\nReview and check daily that prices charged to customers are correct for all invoices.
\nEnsure that imported product is cleared on time and accounted for properly.
\nWork on budget preparation, project appraisals, profitability analysis and forecasts.
\nPerform random audits at various sites.
\n\u00a0Adhere to corporate standards and procedures in all reconciliation activities.
\nEnsure regulatory audits are finalized accurately and in a timely manner.
\nImprove personal skill set regarding software proficiency, financial analysis, and data processing.
\nMaintain safe custody of company fixed assets, assuring that assets records tie up with physical assets.
\nFile all reconciliations and any other work in a well-organized manner.
\nEnsure that all month end reconciliations are accurate and filed.
\nRegular audits of business procedures and internal controls and recommend changes.
\nEnsure that Trial Balance is reconciled prior to the preparation of monthly and quarterly financials.
\nPreparation of management reports, including monthly reports, quarterly & yearly reports and other reports as requested by management.
\nEnsure that all licenses are up to date and renewed well in advance.
\nParticipate in preparation of various Management Packs and reporting on HFM.
\nEnsure all day-to-day finance activities are run effectively.
\nAssist the Risk & Optimization Manager on day-to-day activities to be able to takeover when he is absent.
\nMaintenance of an adequate system of accounting records including running of integrity checks and resolving system integrity errors.
\nUndertake and participate in staff training in your area of proficiency.<\/p>\n

Grade 12 School Certificate

\nMust be a member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants ZICA
\nAt least 5 years post qualification experience.<\/p>\n
