\nWe are inviting applications to fill the following vacant position:
\nPOSITION: SAFETY HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICER (1)
\nLOCATION: KITWE
\nCONTRACT: PERMANENT
\nReporting to the Maintenance Engineer, the successful candidate will be accountable for the following:<\/p>\n
Provide guidance in the planning and implementation of Risk, Safety, Health and Environmental management systems based on OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, NOSA etc.
\nDevelop and maintain strategies to excel in the prevention of accidents and environmental pollution in liaison with the Plant Engineer.
\nFormulate the agenda and carry out local periodic reviews of the safety, health, and environmental management systems.
\nImmediate investigation of community environmental complaints to reduce recurrence.
\nEnsure compliance with all applicable legislations.
\nMaintenance of internal safety, Health, and environmental communication and management systems.
\nImplement suitable safety, Health, and Environmental training programs such as induction.
\nConduct planned, special and routine safety, health, environmental audits, assessments, and inspections.
\nEnsure the involvement of target departments for best practice and compliance with standards.
\nEnsure that risk assessment is conducted on all new projects and operations beforehand.
\nMaintain the accident, hazard and environmental aspects registers and prepare accident reports.
\nImplement and periodically test an emergency preparedness plan and reporting on its performance.<\/p>\n
This job is particularly suitable for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements:<\/p>\n
Degree\/Diploma in Environmental Science and Health or equivalent
\nMinimum 3 years work experience as a Safety, Health, and Environmental Officer or equivalent in an industrial environment.
\nGood knowledge of safety, health and environmental monitoring technologies and auditing skills.
\nKnowledge of industrial and environmental epidemiology and pest control.<\/p>\n
