Job Role
\nThe technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration and air conditioning systems within the Yalelo facilities.
\nInstall New Refrigeration Systems<\/p>\n
Installing climate-control systems, and some specialize only in this area.
\nRead climate control systems blueprints and schematics,
\nUnderstand compliance standards, know local building codes, and apply welding and soldering techniques as required.
\nParticipates in refrigeration design<\/p>\n
Repair and Upgrade Refrigeration Systems<\/p>\n
Diagnose problems and make repairs to existing equipment.
\nTroubleshooting methods, replace parts and run tests to ensure the systems is working properly following repairs.
\nUpgrade systems to satisfy new regulations or meet new standards.
\n\u00a0Implements continuous improvement<\/p>\n
Maintain Existing Refrigeration Systems<\/p>\n
Performing preventative maintenance on refrigeration systems is another primary duty of a Refrigeration Technician.
\nThis entails following a checklist of parts and operations that need to be tested during a routine inspection of existing equipment, such as compressors, condensers, electrical connections, and motor operations.
\nImplements restore to original programs for deteriorated units<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
Full Grade 12 Certificate
\nCraft Certificate in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
\nValid EIZ practicing license will be an added advantage
\nQualification must be ZAQA certified<\/p>\n
Must have skills<\/p>\n
Ability to work well under pressure
\nProblem-solving skills
\nWillingness to learn new skills and techniques
\nRelevant technical knowledge in similar industry<\/p>\n
