\nZambia Open Community Schools (ZOCS) is a registered Non-Governmental Organization under the Societies Act Section 7 (1) under the Laws of Zambia. ZOCS is a vibrant and flagship organization of Community Schools since 1992 in Zambia that empowers communities to provide quality education.
\nThe pillars on which ZOCS builds its approach are those of enhanced educational opportunities for children through education advocacy and policy engagement, capacity development and service delivery.
\nZOCS is about open, accessible schools for disadvantaged children and communities, and these take priority over everything else.
\nZOCS is inviting applications for the following positions:
\nJob Title:\u00a0District Project Coordinator
\nReports to: Project ManagerLocation: Zambezi and MushindamoEmployment Type: ContractDuration: 24 months
\nJob Purpose:
\nThe District Project Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities at the district level. The role ensures that the project is delivered efficiently, within budget, and aligned with organizational goals and donor requirements.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\nProject Management & Implementation<\/p>\n
Coordinate and oversee day-to-day implementation of project activities in the district.<\/p>\n
Ensure timely delivery of project targets according to the approved work plan and budget.<\/p>\n
Supervise field staff, volunteers, or implementing partners operating within the district.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Engagement<\/p>\n
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with district-level stakeholders, including government departments, local leaders, community-based organizations, and partners.<\/p>\n
Represent the project at district meetings, forums, and other relevant platforms.<\/p>\n
Monitoring and Reporting<\/p>\n
Collect, verify, and analyze data on project activities and outcomes.<\/p>\n
Prepare and submit regular reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to the Regional\/Provincial Office.<\/p>\n
Participate in monitoring visits, evaluations, and learning sessions.<\/p>\n
Budget & Resource Management<\/p>\n
Manage district-level project resources, ensuring effective and accountable use.<\/p>\n
Monitor expenditures against budget and report any variances.<\/p>\n
Capacity Building<\/p>\n
Support training, mentorship, and capacity building of local staff and community structures involved in project implementation.<\/p>\n
Risk Management<\/p>\n
Identify potential risks or challenges to project success and propose mitigation measures.<\/p>\n
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor regulations, and safeguarding standards.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Project Management, Education, Social Sciences, Public Health, or a related field.<\/p>\n
At least 3 years of relevant work experience in project coordination, preferably in an NGO or development setting.<\/p>\n
Experience working with government and community stakeholders at the district level.<\/p>\n
Key Competencies:<\/p>\n
Strong organizational and planning skills.<\/p>\n
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.<\/p>\n
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.<\/p>\n
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).<\/p>\n
Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation tools.<\/p>\n
Fluency in English and at least one local language spoken in the district.<\/p>\n

\nReports to: Head DriverLocation: LusakaEmployment Type: ContractDuration: 24 months
\nJob Purpose:
\nTo provide efficient, safe and timely transport services to all departments of ZOCS and to ensure that ZOCS motor vehicles are always kept and maintained in clean and good working condition.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\nTransportation of Goods and People<\/p>\n
Provide efficient and timely transport services to all ZOCS departments.<\/p>\n
Maintain vehicle logbook according to ZOCS transport policy for all trips.<\/p>\n
Maintain delivery logbook and ensure compliance with ZOCS financial and procurement regulations.<\/p>\n
Motor Vehicle Maintenance<\/p>\n
Maintain vehicle logbook according to ZOCS transport policy<\/p>\n
Maintain delivery logbook and ensure compliance with ZOCS financial and procurement regulations<\/p>\n
Maintain vehicle in good condition and ensure regular maintenance schedule is adhered to<\/p>\n
Ensure timely servicing and repair of motor vehicle.<\/p>\n
Compliance and Reporting<\/p>\n
Adhere to Trafic rules and guidelines at all times.<\/p>\n
Produce Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Trip reports<\/p>\n
Drive ZOCS vehicles with care and according to road regulations and ZOCS policies.<\/p>\n
Ensure compliance with the transport policy<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate<\/p>\n
Diploma in Transport and Logistics<\/p>\n
Valid driver\u2019s licence<\/p>\n
At least 3 years of clean driving experience of Manual Motor vehicles<\/p>\n
Exposure to challenging driving conditions<\/p>\n
Experience of basic vehicle maintenance<\/p>\n
Ability to operate simple office machinery<\/p>\n
NGO experience preferred<\/p>\n
Key Competencies:<\/p>\n
Basic Auto Mechanics and Auto Electical Training<\/p>\n
NGO experience preferred<\/p>\n
Strong organizational and planning skills.<\/p>\n

\nReports to: Programme DepartmentLocation: LusakaEmployment Type: ContractDuration: 3 \u2013 6 months

\nTo provideensure quality data management, monitoring and evaluations services, and timely procurement of quality goods and services at the right value.
\nQualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s Degree in the relevant profession<\/p>\n
Registration with the relevant professional organisation.<\/p>\n

Report writing skills<\/p>\n
