We are currently seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Assistant Credit Controller to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting premium collection processes, ensuring accurate allocation and reconciliation of accounts, and assisting in maintaining effective credit control to safeguard the company\u2019s cash flow.
\nPosition Overview
\nThe Assistant Credit Controller supports the credit control function by managing premium collections, allocating payments accurately, and reconciling customer accounts. The role involves preparing debtors\u2019 reports, following up on overdue payments, resolving queries, and ensuring compliance with company credit policies. Working closely with underwriting and risk teams, the Assistant Credit Controller helps maintain healthy cash flow, minimize bad debt, and strengthen relationships with Business Partners.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n1.\u00a0\u00a0 Premium Management
\n\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Proactively collect and follow up on premiums falling due from assigned Business Partners.
\n\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Allocate all received premiums accurately to the correct accounts and policies.
\n\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Obtain premium remittance schedules from Business Partners within agreed timelines.
\n\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Issue monthly customer statements to Business Partners.
\n\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Reconcile customer statements on a monthly basis, resolving disputed items promptly and effectively.
\n2.\u00a0\u00a0 Reporting & Analysis
\n\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly debtors reports to analyze the credit performance of Business Partners.
\n\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Perform monthly reconciliation between the business receipts schedule and the remittance allocation report in the core underwriting system.
\n\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Compile and maintain a monthly suspense account report, ensuring timely clearance of unallocated items.
\n3.\u00a0\u00a0 Collaboration & Relationship Management
\n\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Work closely with the underwriting team to resolve credit control queries and align on premium-related matters.
\n\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with Business Partners to enhance collection efficiency and goodwill.
\n4.\u00a0\u00a0 Risk & Compliance
\n\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Collaborate with the risk management team to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company guidelines.
\n\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Conduct periodic reviews of debtor accounts to identify vulnerabilities under adverse market conditions.
\n5.\u00a0\u00a0 Debt Management
\n\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Produce regular overdue debt reports by age, broker, and region.
\n\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Identify Business Partners with recurring late payment issues and take appropriate action.
\n\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Flag overaged debt in a timely manner for escalation.
\n\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Initiate and effect policy cancellations in line with company credit control policy for overdue debts.
\nQualifications
\nEducation: Bachelor\u2019s degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, or a related field
\nExperience: Minimum of three (3) years\u2019 experience in credit control management.
\nSkills
