Lead and expand the bank\u2019s SME and Commercial Banking portfolio.
\n\u00a0 Provide strategic oversight, drive client acquisition, manage portfolios, and develop innovative banking solutions tailored to the unique needs of SMEs and commercial clients.<\/p>\n
Job Description
\nRole and Responsibilities
\nStrategic Leadership & Portfolio Growth<\/p>\n
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for SME and Commercial Banking, aligned with UBA Zambia\u2019s objectives.
\nLead the acquisition of new SME and commercial clients to grow market share.
\nOversee existing client relationships to ensure satisfaction and retention.<\/p>\n
Product Development & Market Positioning<\/p>\n
Collaborate with the Product Development Team to design and implement solutions for SMEs and commercial clients.
\nConduct market research and competitor analysis to inform product offerings and identify growth opportunities.<\/p>\n
Risk Management & Compliance<\/p>\n
Ensure compliance with Bank of Zambia regulations and internal policies.
\n\u00a0Implement effective risk management practices to maintain a healthy loan portfolio and minimize non-performing assets.<\/p>\n
Team Leadership & Development<\/p>\n
Supervise and mentor Relationship Managers and Officers, fostering a high-performance culture.
\nProvide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
\nFinancial Performance & Reporting
\nMonitor and report on KPIs including loan growth, deposit acquisition, and profitability.
\nDevelop and manage budgets to ensure efficient resource allocation.<\/p>\n
Key Performance Indicators<\/p>\n
Achieve the approved Business Banking (SME & Commercial) PBT target.
\n100% attainment of annual targets (Deposits, Risk Assets, Fees & Commission, Client Conversions).<\/p>\n
Job Requirements
\nEducation Requirements<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field with at least a Credit or better.
\nMBA or professional banking qualifications are an added advantage.
\nFull Grade Twelve School Certificate with five (5) credits including English and Mathematics.
\nZAQA-verified certificates.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
Minimum of 10 years in banking, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within SME or Commercial Banking.<\/p>\n
