Lubambe Copper Mine Limited (LCML) owns and operates the Lubambe underground Copper Mine located in Chililabombwe District of the Copperbelt Province in Zambia. The Mine which commenced operations in 2012 is situated approximately 468 kilometres North of the Capital City of Lusaka, 152 Kilometres from Ndola and approximately 40 Kilometres from Chingola.
\nLubambe Copper Mine sits on an area of approximately 58.1 square kilometres and comprises an existing underground mine, characterised by two distinct limbs (the East and South Limbs) and a processing Plant with a capacity to process up to 2.4 million tonnes per annum.

\nLCML seeks to employ an experienced and qualified individual in the following position:
\nLEGAL OFFICER (X1)
\nThis position reports to the Company Secretary & Legal Manager.
\nCore Purpose of the Position
\nProvide legal support to the legal section and business
\nKey Performance Areas\/Indicators (KPA\/Is):<\/p>\n
Ensure legal compliance and formulate legal compliance mechanisms for the business including data protection and cyber laws.
\nReview and monitor legislation, case law, legal trends etc relevant to the business and any changes.
\nIdentifying, assessing and mitigating legal risks associated with business operations and the business.
\nDraft and review legal agreements including contracts and commercial agreements.
\nFacilitate training and education to employees on legal issues including compliance and risk management.
\nInitiate and coordinate mechanisms to improve the functioning of the legal department.
\nRepresent the Company in legal disputes
\nProvide assistance to the Company Secretary & Legal Manager on any other tasks that may be assigned.<\/p>\n
Academic Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
\nBachelor of Laws Degree (LLB).
\nAdvocate of the High Court of Zambia.
\nMember of Law Association of Zambia.
\nPossess valid practicing licence.
\nMinimum of two (2) years working experience
\nDemonstrate knowledge in dispute resolution processes including litigation and arbitration
\nWell vest in relevant laws affecting the mining industry<\/p>\n
