JOB DESCRIPTION:
\nAs an instructor for TEVETA accredited Level I course \u201cELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY\u201d at MEL Vocational Training Centre \u2013 Maamba, you will be responsible for imparting Theoretical and practical training to students so as to reach to their competency levels and resulting in to seek employment for their lively hood. Your duties include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n
Educator & Trainer \u2013 Deliver both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical skills in Electrical Technology.
\nMentor & Guide \u2013 Support s udents\u2019 career growth, instill discipline, and encourage safety-conscious behavior.
\nAssessor \u2013 Evaluate students\u2019 competencies, skills, and progress according to vocational training standards.
\nIndustry Link \u2013 Bridge the gap between classroom training and real-world industrial practices.
\nResource Manager \u2013 Maintain training tools, equipment, and workshop facilities to
\nTeaching & Training:
\nPrepare and deliver lessons on electrical principles, installation, maintenance, and repair.
\nConduct practical demonstrations in wiring, motor controls, renewable energy systems, and electrical safety.
\nDevelop lesson plans, training manuals, and instructional materials aligned with the syllabus.
\nIncorporate modern technologies (e.g., solar PV, PLCs, automation basics) where applicable.
\nStudent Development:
\nGuide students in developing problem-solving, technical, and employability skills.
\nMonitor student progress and provide feedback and remedial support where needed.
\nEncourage teamwork, good work ethics, and professional behavior.
\nAssessment & Evaluation:
\nDesign and administer tests, practical assessments, and projects.
\nMaintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and competency levels.
\nPrepare students for internal and external examinations (e.g., TEVETA assessments).
\nWorkshop & Equipment Management:
\nEnsure all tools and training equipment are available, functional, and safe.
\nDevelop and enforce workshop safety rules and occupational health standards.
\nRecommend procurement of new equipment and consumables to support training.
\nProfessional & Institutional Duties:
\nStay updated with new developments in electrical technology and industry standards.
\nParticipate in curriculum development and institutional meetings.
\nSupport accreditation and quality assurance processes.
\nEstablish industry linkages for student attachments, internships, and employment opportunities.<\/p>\n
