Job Vacancy: Crop Farm Supervisor

\nGoldenlay is Zambia\u2019s leading producer of table eggs, committed to excellence in sustainable agriculture. We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Arable\u00a0Crop Farm Supervisor\u00a0to help oversee our row cropping operations.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nFull responsibility for the planning, execution, and performance of row cropping operations (maize, soya beans, wheat).<\/p>\n
Help manage our commercial-scale farm and the cropping team.
\nOperate and maintain center pivot irrigation systems effectively.
\nEnsure optimal use and servicing of all farm machinery \u2013 including tractors, planters, sprayers, and combine harvesters.
\nProvide hands-on mechanical support and technical direction for all agricultural equipment.
\nHelp with budgeting, input planning, and cost control measures to ensure profitability.
\nHelp oversee land preparation, planting, spraying, fertilization, harvesting, and storage logistics.
\nManage, train, and motivate a team of operators, and seasonal workers.
\nMaintain accurate records and timely reporting as required.
\nEnsure full compliance with safety, environmental, and labor regulations.
\nConduct field scouting, yield tracking, and soil health monitoring.
\nHelp manage and supervise expansion to 650ha of irrigation from current 164ha.
\nFarm expansion projects including:<\/p>\n
\u2013 New dam construction
\n\u2013 Bush clearing
\n\u2013\u00a0 Pivot installation
\n\u2013\u00a0 Land development and drainage
\nRequired Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
A degree or diploma in Agronomy, Agriculture, Crop Science, or a related field.
\nMinimum 5 years\u2019 experience in commercial row cropping, including direct supervisory responsibilities for large-scale operations.
\nProven experience supervising center pivots and other irrigation systems.
\nStrong mechanical knowledge and ability to maintain and troubleshoot farm machinery \u2013 John Deere equipment.
\nProficient in daily planning, and agronomic record keeping.
\nAble to operate all farming equipment including tractors, planter, spray rigs and combine harvesters.
\nExcellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
\nMust be hands-on, proactive, and capable of working independently under pressure.<\/p>\n
Reporting Line<\/p>\n
This position reports directly to the General Manager and to the Directors.<\/p>\n
