Our client in the Engineering sector is looking to hire a Heavy Duty Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic who will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
\nKey Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Conduct thorough inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of heavy-duty earthmoving equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and haul trucks.
\nPerform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, lubrications, and adjustments, to ensure machinery operates at peak performance.
\nDiagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues and perform necessary repairs to keep equipment functioning smoothly.
\nCollaborate with operators and other technicians to identify equipment issues and implement approved solutions.
\nMaintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
\nEnsure that all safety protocols and procedures are adhered to while performing maintenance work.
\nAssist in the training and guidance of junior mechanics and apprentices.<\/p>\n
Desired Skills, Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
Technical Diploma in Heavy Equipment Mechanics or equivalent qualification.
\nMinimum of 3 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty earthmoving equipment.
\nStrong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems used in heavy machinery.
\nProficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and repair machinery.
\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
\nValid Driver\u2019s License is essential; heavy vehicle license is a plus.
\nMust possess good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and operators.
\nCommitment to adhering to safety standards and practices.
\nMust be a member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).<\/p>\n
