We focus on leadership development, health, gender equality, governance, climate justice, economic strengthening and digital literacy in our work.<br \/>\nWe promote equality and fight injustices that inhibit women and girls from enjoying their rights. GAL strengthens the collective voice, power, and influence of girls and women by enabling them to make informed choices, participate in decision-making, mobilize, and take collective action. Our feminist approach is grounded in transforming social norms, addressing unequal power relations, and ensuring inclusivity, intersectionality, and diversity.<br \/>\nPurpose of the Role<br \/>\nThe Programmes Officer will lead the integration and promotion of GAL\u2019s thematic areas in line with our strategic priorities. The role requires a committed feminist who can design, implement, and advocate for transformative interventions, build the capacity of young people, women, staff, and partners, and drive programmes that are inclusive, rights-based, and sustainable.<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Design and support programme and policy initiatives advancing women\u2019s and girls\u2019 rights at local, national, and international levels.<br \/>\nIntegrate economic strengthening and digital business models into programme delivery to support young women\u2019s livelihoods.<br \/>\nLead safeguarding initiatives to ensure the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of young people in all interventions.<br \/>\nDevelop and implement advocacy and campaign strategies amplifying the voices of young people and marginalized groups.<br \/>\nSupport resource mobilization efforts including proposal writing and donor engagement.<br \/>\nProduce timely, high-quality programme reports and knowledge products for donors and partners.<br \/>\nFacilitate capacity-building sessions for staff, young people, and partners.<br \/>\nCoordinate research efforts to generate evidence for advocacy, campaigns, and policy reform.<br \/>\nRepresent GAL in strategic meetings, coalitions, and advocacy platforms.<br \/>\nDocument and disseminate lessons learned, best practices, and innovations to strengthen programming impact.<\/p>\n<p>Person Specification<br \/>\nEducation and Experience<\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Gender, Development Studies, Social Work, or a related field.<br \/>\nMinimum 3 years\u2019 experience in programme management, preferably in women\u2019s rights, youth empowerment, or feminist organizations.<br \/>\nProven track record in economic strengthening, digital business integration, and child and youth-focused programming.<br \/>\nDemonstrated experience in advocacy, campaigns, and policy influencing.<br \/>\nExperience building and managing partnerships, coalitions, and networks.<br \/>\nStrong understanding of safeguarding principles and their application in\u00a0 programming.<br \/>\nFamiliarity with donor requirements and experience in resource mobilization.<\/p>\n<p>Skills and Competencies<\/p>\n<p>Strong feminist values with the ability to integrate feminist approaches across programming.<br \/>\nExcellent facilitation, participatory engagement, and community mobilization skills.<br \/>\nAbility to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs.<br \/>\nStrong analytical, written, and oral communication skills.<br \/>\nAbility to work independently and as part of a cohesive, collaborative team.<br \/>\nDemonstrated commitment to intersectionality, diversity, and inclusion.<\/p>\n<p>Sharing is Caring!
