\nZambart\u00a0is an independent Zambian research organization whose headquarters is at the University of Zambia\u2019s Ridgeway Campus in Lusaka. Zambart is globally renowned for its interdisciplinary research on HIV and Tuberculosis and has contributed to HIV and TB policy and practice at national and global levels. Zambart\u2019s research portfolio now includes a broader scope of urgent public health issues. Zambart staff form an interdisciplinary team with a range of expertise including epidemiology, clinical science, social science, laboratory, operations research, health systems and services research, health policy analysis, health economics, health communication and counselling.

\nPosition: Quality Assurance\/Compliance Research Governance Officer
\nReporting To: Head of Research Governance
\nJob Location: Lusaka
\nJob Summary
\nWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance and Compliance Research Governance Officer to support our research operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all research activities comply with regulatory standards, institutional policies, and best practices. This role is critical in upholding research integrity, maintaining a robust Quality Management System (QMS), and promoting a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
\nKey Responsibilities include the following but not limited to:
\n1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensure Research Integrity<\/p>\n
Conduct internal audits and assessments to verify compliance with research protocols, institutional policies, and regulatory guidelines.
\nMonitor research activities to ensure data integrity, ethical conduct, and adherence to good research practices.
\nInvestigate allegations of research misconduct (e.g., fabrication, falsification, plagiarism) in line with established protocols
\nRecommend corrective and preventive actions for identified areas of non-compliance.<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Develop and Maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS)<\/p>\n
Design, implement, and oversee effective QA processes and procedures.
\nEstablish and track quality metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for continuous monitoring.
\nCollaborate with research and administrative teams to address and resolve quality issues.
\nIdentify and mitigate potential risks in research operations and study implementation.<\/p>\n

Timely research audit and compliance reports
\nAccurate documentation and follow-up of findings and corrective and preventative actions
\nTraining materials and records
\nQMS documentation and performance metrics<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Skills<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in health sciences, Life Sciences, or a related field
\nMinimum of 2 years\u2019 experience in quality assurance, research compliance, or research auditing.
\nKnowledge of local and international regulatory and ethical standards (e.g., GCP, IRB guidelines, national\/international research ethics).
\nExcellent analytical, investigative, and communication skills.
\nProficiency in research audit tools, documentation, and quality improvement frameworks.<\/p>\n
