This role requires a recognised Red Seal Electrician qualification and ensures that all electrical works meet project specifications, international standards, and both South African and Zambian statutory safety regulations. The Electrical Expert contributes to safe, reliable, and efficient project delivery while mentoring junior staff.<br \/>\nMinimum Requirements<br \/>\n1. Trade Certification &amp; Professional Standing<br \/>\nRed Seal Electrician (Trade Tested) under:<br \/>\nManpower Training Act \u2013 Section 13, or<br \/>\nSkills Development Act \u2013 Section 26D<br \/>\nRecognised by the National Bargaining Council for the Electrical Industry (NBCEI) and National Artisan Moderation Body (NAMB)<br \/>\n2. Experience<br \/>\nMinimum 5 years\u2019 post-trade practical experience in industrial, commercial, or mining electrical works<br \/>\nProven skills in installations and maintenance aligned with SANS 10142-1, ZABS ZS 374, and IEC standards<br \/>\nPrior experience on cross-border or international projects advantageous<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities<br \/>\nInstall, test, repair, and commission LV and MV electrical systems in compliance with SANS, ZABS, and IEC standards<br \/>\nDiagnose and repair electrical faults using approved test equipment and safe working practices<br \/>\nAccurately read, interpret, and apply electrical drawings, schematics, and technical layouts<br \/>\nInstall and maintain distribution boards, isolators, protection systems, motors, cable trays, and lighting systems<br \/>\nEnsure strict compliance with:<br \/>\nNBCEI employment and working conditions<br \/>\nSouth African and Zambian statutory labour and safety laws<br \/>\nOHS Act (RSA) and Factories Act (Zambia)<br \/>\nComplete job cards, inspection reports, and compliance documentation with accuracy and timeliness<br \/>\nMentor and guide assistants\/junior electricians in safe working procedures and technical practices<br \/>\nParticipate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety briefings as part of the site HSE framework<br \/>\nLiaise with ZESCO and other utility providers for inspections, approvals, and grid connection activities<br \/>\nSkills &amp; Competencies<br \/>\nExpert knowledge of electrical safety systems, hazard control, and lockout\/tagout procedures<br \/>\nStrong understanding of South African (SANS, OHS Act) and Zambian (ZABS, Factories Act) regulations, as well as IEC standards<br \/>\nHigh attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship and system reliability<br \/>\nAbility to work independently and lead small project teams effectively<br \/>\nStrong communication, coordination, and documentation abilities<br \/>\nCommitment to maintaining a strong safety culture and ensuring high-performance project outcomes<br \/>\nWorking Conditions<br \/>\nWork may involve confined spaces, heights, and high-temperature or dusty environments<br \/>\nFull PPE compliance and strict adherence to company and statutory safety regulations are mandatory<br \/>\nApplication Process<br \/>\nApplicants must submit the following:<br \/>\nCV with verifiable references<br \/>\nCertified copy of South African Red Seal Trade Certificate<br \/>\nCopy of Wireman\u2019s License (if applicable)<br \/>\nValid passport copy<br \/>\nRecent police clearance certificate<br \/>\nProof of EIZ registration or eligibility<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
