ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT
\nJob Purpose:
\nCaritas Zambia, as the secretariat for the Christian Churches Monitoring Group (CCMG), is seeking an Assistant Accountant who will be responsible for day-to-day transactions in the Finance and Administration Department (FAD). H\/she is responsible for updating and reconciling all ledger accounts to facilitate the preparation of financial reports. The Assistant Accountant reports to the FAD-Unit Head.
\nCaritas Zambia is an institution of the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB) dedicated to promoting the Social Ministry of the Catholic Church. Caritas Zambia is an evidence-based advocacy organization with a mandate of fostering and upholding human dignity by promoting integral human development through research, advocacy, monitoring, and participation in the formulation of economic and social policies. CCMG is an alliance of four faith-based organisations formed to help promote credible elections through non-partisan citizen monitoring. The CCMG partner organisations are the Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ), the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ), and the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB).
\nDuties and Responsibilities
\nTimely processing of requests for payments to meet financial obligations
\nPrepare financial documents
\nUpdate and reconciliation of all ledger accounts to facilitate the preparation of reports
\nEnsure all financial transactions are posted on time
\nHandle payments and manage day-to-day transactions of the FAD
\nSkills and Qualifications:<\/p>\n
Attention to detail
\nStrong time management skills,
\nCommunication skills,
\nAbility to work well with others,
\nGood organization skills,
\nMust be computer literate
\nExperience in the Pastel accounting system is an added advantage<\/p>\n
Education, Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
Degree in Accountancy or CA advisory
\nZICA membership
\nAt least 3 years of work experience<\/p>\n
