\nAfrican Parks (AP) is a non-profit conservation organisation that takes on responsibility for the long-term management of protected areas in partnership with governments and local communities. AP manages 23 protected areas in 13 countries covering over 20 million hectares in Angola, Benin, Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, Mozambique, the Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Rwanda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. \nJob Overview
\nAs part of our mission, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is central to ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with donor and statutory requirements, and supporting the effective use of resources to deliver meaningful change.
\nThe Financial Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial records, overseeing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with organizational and donor policies. \nMAIN ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
Accurately post all financial transactions in Serenic or related ERP systems.
\nProcess journals in a timely manner, ensuring weekly postings.
\nEnsure correct donor mapping and allocations in line with reporting requirements.
\nReconcile sub-ledgers to general ledgers; clear vendor balances monthly.
\nReconcile staff advances monthly and ensure closure before month-end.
\nReview invoices for anomalies, ensuring complete documentation.
\nMonitor budgets, flagging anomalies, and ensuring correct budget lines are applied.
\nRecord, tag, and manage fixed assets with accurate allocations.
\nEnsure timely and accurate calculation and payment of taxes.
\nUphold financial transparency and compliance with donor and internal policies.
\nEnsure that the commercial revenue is accurately accounted for.
\nAnd any other tasks that may be assigned to you by your supervisor<\/p>\n

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
\nProfessional qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, ZICA) is an added advantage.
\nAt least 3 years\u2019 proven experience in finance or accounting.
\nSolid knowledge of ERP\/accounting systems (Serenic preferred).
\nStrong background in reconciliations, reporting, and compliance.
\nExperience working with donor-funded projects or NGOs is highly desirable.<\/p>\n
