It is located in Mindolo, Kitwe District on \u00a0the Copperbelt Province of Zambia<br \/>\nApplications are invited from qualified persons to fill the following position:<br \/>\nMAINTENANCE OFFICER<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nMEF is looking for a Maintenance Officer on contractual basis at Mindolo Ecumenical Foundation Campus in Mindolo Kitwe. S\/he will be responsible for the effective and efficient running of the institution\u2019s maintenance department through regular maintenance of the campus\u2019 property; buildings, furniture, water reticulation and the grounds\/lawns to a high standard.<br \/>\nReports to: The Executive Director<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nDuties and Responsibilities.<br \/>\nCarry out repairs and maintenance tasks on a range of equipment, furniture, buildings and facilities in the main administration block, hostels, class rooms and other areas occupied by MEF.<br \/>\nPro-actively identify maintenance and repair tasks needed and carry out the necessary maintenance by delegating and coordinating the works by the maintenance department<br \/>\nReport works which may need external skills<br \/>\nCarry out checks and inspections as necessary to ensure equipment and other infrastructure are safe, reliable and well maintained for use<br \/>\nRemove (where possible) and report any safety hazards<br \/>\nMinor building construction<br \/>\nElectrical testing and repairs of electrical equipment and appliances.<br \/>\nSupervise mowing, minor pruning \/ cutting trees, weeding and similar garden functions.<br \/>\nEnsure the proper and safe use and storage of all materials, chemicals, consumables and gardening equipment<br \/>\nComply with relevant legislation, policies and procedures applicable to the role<br \/>\nSupervise the operations of the water plant and boreholes and make sure that water supply at MEF is constant.<br \/>\nQualification and Experience<br \/>\nFull Grade 12 School Certificate, GCE<br \/>\nMinimum Crafts Certificate in Construction\/Electrical<br \/>\nAt least Two (2) years relevant<br \/>\nDesirable Skills and Abilities<br \/>\nSupervisory skills<br \/>\nGood communication and interpersonal skills that enable positive working relationships.<br \/>\nDemonstrate initiative in undertaking various maintenance tasks.<br \/>\nManage a variety of tasks simultaneously and able to work under pressure while maintaining confidence.<br \/>\nAble to perform various electrical and other power tools like lawnmower, welding machines, grinders and other electrical appliances<br \/>\nAbility to work in team.<br \/>\nAble to relate to various stakeholders in a friendly and empathetic manner<br \/>\nReliable, punctual and flexible.<br \/>\nBe enthusiastic and motivated.<br \/>\nAGE: \u00a025 years and above<br \/>\nCommencement of duty: 22 September 2025.<br \/>\nBackground: Strong Christian background and able to work in an Ecumenical Environment.<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
