Located in a beautiful setting in rural Zambia, the school comprises both Primary and Secondary sections as well as an Outdoor Education Centre.<br \/>\nAfter a period of significant growth, we are seeking dedicated educators to join the leadership team to drive the school forward into its next phase.<br \/>\nPOSITION AVAILABLE: Head of Department \u2013 Lower Primary<br \/>\nThe Head of Lower Primary is responsible for the leadership and strategic development of the department (Pre-school to Grade 4). This includes ensuring world-class teaching and learning, mentoring and supporting staff, overseeing curriculum delivery, and fostering a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and high expectations. The role also carries responsibility for the pastoral, spiritual, and character development of pupils, in line with the school\u2019s vision and values.<br \/>\nThe post-holder will teach a Lower Primary class, line manage all Lower Primary teachers, and play a key role as part of the School Management Team (SMT).<br \/>\nPERSON PROFILE<br \/>\nThe successful candidate will:<br \/>\nEssential:<br \/>\n1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hold a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Education (or equivalent).<br \/>\n2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Have a minimum of 3 years\u2019 experience in a leadership role in an\u00a0 educational setting, preferably in a Lower Primary school.<br \/>\n3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Have at least 5\u20137 years of full-time teaching experience, ideally within an ISASA or ISAZ school.<br \/>\n4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Demonstrate strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to inspire both staff and pupils.<br \/>\n5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Show excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to build strong relationships with staff, students, parents, and the wider community.<br \/>\n6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Be committed to safeguarding and the holistic development of children.<br \/>\n7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Uphold strong Christian values and be fully aligned with the vision and mission of Chengelo School.<br \/>\n8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Knowledge of Jolly Phonics, Cambridge Primary, or the PYP curriculum would be advantageous.<br \/>\nThe ideal candidate will have a passion for Christian education, a commitment to academic and pastoral excellence, and a clear understanding of the opportunities and challenges in African schools.<br \/>\nSAFEGUARDING<br \/>\nChengelo School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
