Eastern Tropical Fruit Company Limited (ETF) is jointly owned by Zambia Fruit Company and Vitaplus Foods Limited, under the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). The Company operates a hybrid fruit and vegetable processing plant located in Katete District, Eastern Province of Zambia.
\nRole Overview:
\nThe Injection Mould Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the injection moulding machines used to produce plastic components, such as bottle caps or containers. This role ensures the moulding process is efficient, products meet quality specifications, and all safety procedures are followed.
\nKey Roles and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Set up and operate injection moulding machines according to production schedules and specifications.
\nInstall and secure moulds, configure machine parameters, and ensure proper startup procedures.
\nMonitor machine cycles and adjust settings to optimize performance and product quality.
\nConduct visual and dimensional inspections of moulded parts to ensure conformity with specifications.
\nRecord inspection results and maintain compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
\nDiagnose machine faults or process issues and implement corrective actions or escalate to maintenance personnel.
\nMaintain accurate production logs, including machine run time, output volumes, and downtime events.
\nEnsure traceability of batches and compliance with all documentation requirements.
\nCommunicate daily performance and issues to supervisors or team leads.
\nAdhere to company safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
\nReport hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly in line with safety protocols.
\nEnsure all operations are conducted in accordance with environmental and occupational safety regulations.<\/p>\n
Minimum Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) O Levels.
\nDiploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
\nAt least\u00a03 years\u00a0of hands-on experience operating injection moulding machines in a manufacturing or production environment.
\nBasic understanding of quality control practices related to moulded products, including visual and dimensional inspection.
\nMembership with a recognized professional regulatory body (e.g.,\u00a0Engineering Institution of Zambia \u2013 EIZ)
\nKnowledge of plastic materials and the injection moulding process is a distinct advantage.<\/p>\n
