Eastern Tropical Fruit Company Limited (ETF) is jointly owned by Zambia Fruit Company and Vitaplus Foods Limited, under the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). The Company operates a hybrid fruit and vegetable processing plant located in Katete District, Eastern Province of Zambia.
\nRole Overview
\nThe Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the production line. This role ensures that all production activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The Production Supervisor will lead and manage a team of operators and technicians, monitor production targets, and maintain a smooth workflow.
\nKey Roles and Responsibilities
\nProduction Oversight:<\/p>\n
Oversee the daily operations of the production line, including processing, filling, and packaging.
\nMonitor production schedules and ensure that output targets are met on time.
\nTroubleshoot and resolve minor production issues to minimize downtime.
\nEnsure the efficient use of raw materials, labour, and equipment.<\/p>\n
Team Leadership and Management:<\/p>\n
Supervise and mentor a team of operators and technicians.
\nAssign daily tasks, provide training, and manage shifts.
\nConduct performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback to team members.
\nFoster a positive and productive work environment.<\/p>\n
Quality and Safety Compliance:<\/p>\n
Ensure all production processes adhere to the company\u2019s quality control and food safety standards.
\nConduct regular checks to ensure product quality is maintained throughout the production cycle.
\nEnforce strict adherence to health and safety protocols and procedures.
\nReport all safety incidents and hazards to the Senior Health and Safety Officer.<\/p>\n
Reporting and Communication:<\/p>\n
Prepare daily production reports on output, efficiency, and any issues encountered.
\nCommunicate effectively with the Factory Manager and other departments to ensure a coordinated workflow.
\nReport on equipment performance and maintenance needs to the relevant technical staff.<\/p>\n
Minimum Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) O Levels
\nDiploma in Production Management, Food Technology, Food Science, Engineering, or related field.
\nMembership with a recognized professional regulatory body
\nMinimum 5 years\u2019 experience in production operations.<\/p>\n
