Eastern Tropical Fruit Company Limited (ETF) is jointly owned by Zambia Fruit Company and Vitaplus Foods Limited, under the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). The Company operates a hybrid fruit and vegetable processing plant located in Katete District, Eastern Province of Zambia.
\nRole Overview:
\nThe Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient production operations in accordance with applicable standards. The role will involve performing routine electrical inspections, diagnosing faults, adjusting control systems, and ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety protocols. Additionally, the position will entail maintaining accurate records of electrical work, collaborating with production and maintenance teams, and supporting continuous improvement efforts to enhance plant reliability and operational efficiency.
\nKey Roles and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in compliance with electrical codes and company policies.
\nConduct preventive maintenance on electrical systems, switchgear, control panels, and production equipment.
\nDiagnose electrical faults and malfunctions in machinery, lighting, and power systems.
\nReplace faulty wiring, circuit breakers, fuses, and other electrical components as required.
\nRespond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
\nCollaborate with Maintenance and Production teams to resolve recurring electrical issues.
\nPerform electrical testing and calibration on control systems, motors, and sensors
\nEnsure instrumentation and safety systems function reliably and within specifications.
\nMaintain accurate records of electrical maintenance, installations, and fault reports.
\nEnsure compliance with electrical safety procedures, grounding, circuit protection, and labelling standards.
\nParticipate in safety drills, risk assessments, and inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
\nSupport audit readiness through proper documentation of electrical activities.<\/p>\n
Minimum Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) O Levels.
\nDiploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power, or a related field from a recognized institution.
\nMinimum of 3 years\u2019 experience in industrial or plant electrical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
\nProven experience with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of motors, control panels, VFDs, and PLCs.
\nMembership with a recognized professional regulatory body (e.g Engineering Institution of Zambia)
\nProven experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems.<\/p>\n
