Eastern Tropical Fruit Company Limited (ETF) is jointly owned by Zambia Fruit Company and Vitaplus Foods Limited, under the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). The Company operates a hybrid fruit and vegetable processing plant located in Katete District, Eastern Province of Zambia.
\nRole Overview:
\nThe Packaging Operator is responsible for the final stage of the production process, ensuring products are correctly packaged, labelled, and prepared for dispatch. This role involves operating packaging machinery, conducting quality checks, and maintaining a clean and efficient work area.
\nKey Roles and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Operate and monitor packaging equipment, including filling machines, labelling machines, and carton sealers.
\nLoad packaging materials, such as bottles, labels, and cartons, into the machinery.
\nMonitor the production line for jams, misaligned labels, or incorrect packaging.
\nConduct regular checks to ensure products are packaged according to specifications.
\nInspect packaged products for defects, damage, or improper sealing.
\nReport any quality issues to the Production Supervisor immediately.
\nPerform routine cleaning and sanitation of all packaging equipment and the surrounding area.
\nConduct basic preventative maintenance checks on machinery.
\nEnsure the work area is kept clean, organized, and free of hazards.
\nAdhere to all health and safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
\nFollow all food safety and hygiene regulations to prevent product contamination.
\nReport any safety concerns or incidents to the supervisor.<\/p>\n
Minimum Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) O Levels.
\nDiploma in Food Science, Food Processing, Production Management, or related field.
\nMinimum of\u00a03 years\u2019\u00a0experience working in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
\nKnowledge of food safety and quality standards such as HACCP and ISO 22000.
\nMembership with a recognized professional regulatory body
\nProven ability to operate and maintain industrial machinery.<\/p>\n
