Our client, VVOB an NGO that works tirelessly across developing nations to strengthen education systems, ensuring access, equity, and excellence in learning for all is looking to hire a Strategic Education Advisor to join their team. The strategic Advisor will focus on Foundational Learning within Zambia and be part of the overall team of Strategic Education Advisors.
\nKey Tasks and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Support the VVOB team and structures of the Ministry of Education on national and decentralised levels in planning and implementation of education programmes particularly in foundational learning and early grade remediation.
\nWork closely together with the Education Manager, Education Advisors, MEAL team and other project staff to support capacity development of staff, quality of project implementation in our existing projects on foundational learning as well as projects in early grade remedial education using the Teaching at the Right Level (also known as Catch Up) approach.
\nProvide expert guidance in foundational learning and providing technical support to programme implementation, while mentoring the SEA team with the Country Programmes Manager.
\nCollaborate with Strategic Education Advisors locally and internationally to unlock the VVOB\u2019s Learning Unlimited Strategy and to lead the strategic development of existing and new areas of work particularly on foundational learning.
\nProvide advice on the design, implementation and evaluation of capacity development methods for professionals in foundational learning.
\nSupport networking and partnerships including securing cooperation and support from VVOB\u2019s partners for existing and future projects, to promote VVOB as a reliable partner and to represent our organization towards external stakeholders in your field.
\nContribute to internal and external knowledge development and learning, by supporting innovation, reflection and learning and proactively supporting sharing of lessons learned between partners, colleagues and other VVOB country teams.
\nActively search for new sources of funding for VVOB and assist in the preparation of project proposals.<\/p>\n
Desired Skills, Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
Master\u2019s degree in education, human sciences, or related field or equivalent experience.
\nAt least ten years of relevant working experience including at least five years of international working experience.
\nIn depth understanding of the foundational learning including experience in material development and capacity development.
\nUnderstanding and experience in early grade remedial education, particularly the teaching at the Right Level approach, is an asset.
\nIn depth understanding of and experience in recent evolutions related to foundational learning and remedial education.
\nExperience in programme and\/or project, change development and management.
\nExperience in organizational and institutional capacity development.
\nEnglish proficiency: CEFR level C1 \/ based on country needs.<\/p>\n
