The Monitoring and Evaluation and Research Manager will be responsible for leading the team of M &amp; E and Research staff and oversee and coordinate their activities. He \/ She will work closely with the programme team in the country and at global office.<br \/>\nKey Tasks and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>Lead the M &amp; E and Research team to ensure strong M &amp;E and research<br \/>\nsystems and activities for all programmes in Zambia, in collaboration with<br \/>\nthe Education Manager and Strategic Advisors.<br \/>\nEasily navigate between M &amp; E, research, planning and strategic operations, ensuring that we collect and use qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions about the programmes, while establishing effective feedback and learning mechanism within the organization.<br \/>\nProvide expert leadership and guidance on how and when M &amp; E and<br \/>\nresearch activities (including impact evaluations) should take place to<br \/>\nstrengthen the programmes.<br \/>\nSupport the M&amp;E and Research team to plan, allocate and prioritize tasks<br \/>\nto execute data collection, analysis and dissemination for cross-cutting<br \/>\nlearning and specialized projects on specific topics of interest, both through regular programme monitoring and evaluation as well as rigorous research.<br \/>\nGuide the team to deliver research activities with high quality, while<br \/>\nensuring IRB compliance and adhering to research ethics protocols.<br \/>\nProvide strong leadership (on-the-job mentoring, work-planning coaching,<br \/>\ncapacity development, change management) for your direct reports,<br \/>\nsupporting a positive organizational culture. Mobilize the M &amp; E and<br \/>\nResearch team and keep them on track to meet deliverables with high<br \/>\nquality.<br \/>\nFoster good relationships with a range of stakeholders (in the Ministry, in<br \/>\ndonor and partner organizations, and in survey firms) to ensure that their<br \/>\nneeds and limitations are fully understood and incorporated into learning<br \/>\nactivities as far as possible, securing their cooperation and support.<br \/>\nPromote the organization as a reliable partner and represent the<br \/>\norganization towards external stakeholders in the field.<\/p>\n<p>Desired Skills, Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n<p>Master\u2019s degree in social sciences, Demography, International<br \/>\nDevelopment, Research, or Policy related field or equivalent experience.<br \/>\nAt least 5 years of demonstrable experience in M &amp; E and Research<br \/>\n(including designing studies for monitoring and evaluation, budgeting and<br \/>\ncoordinating to implement them, analyzing and disseminating results),<br \/>\npreferably working on projects which strengthen government systems and<br \/>\nstructures. Experience with RCTs is an added advantage.<br \/>\nExperience in leading multicultural and effective M &amp; E and Research teams in international development and projects of different donors.<br \/>\nExperience with project cycle management and institutional capacity<br \/>\ndevelopment.<br \/>\nTechnical skills in a range of data collection, cleaning and analysis software<br \/>\nsuch as Kobo Collect \/ SurveyCTO \/ ODK, MS Excel, Stata, Power BI \/ Tableau, NVivo.<br \/>\nFluent in English (English CEFR Level C1). Knowledge of local languages is<br \/>\nan advantage.<br \/>\nGood understanding of the education landscape in Zambia.<br \/>\nAbility and willingness to travel frequently within the provinces.<br \/>\nAbility to inspire and motivate the M &amp; E team, the organization\u2019s provincial staff and MoE staff to put in their very best!<\/p>\n<p>Sharing is Caring!
