{"id":5482,"date":"2025-09-25T14:00:14","date_gmt":"2025-09-25T14:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zambia\/job\/legal-officer-at-makeni-college-school-of-nursing-and-health-sciences\/"},"modified":"2025-12-02T00:14:23","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T00:14:23","slug":"legal-officer-at-makeni-college-school-of-nursing-and-health-sciences","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zambia\/?post_type=job_listing&p=5482","title":{"rendered":"Legal Officer at Makeni College School of Nursing and Health Sciences"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>POSITION: LEGAL OFFICER<br \/>\nMakeni University College of Nursing and Health Sciences is a Zambian wholly owned private training institution seeking to employ a vibrant and enthusiastic candidate to fill in the position of Legal Officer<br \/>\nROLE REQUIREMENT<br \/>\nWe are looking for a skilled Legal Officer who will provide legal services, advice and professional guidance to the University College in order to ensure that the interests of the institution are legally protected at all times.<br \/>\nMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<br \/>\nTo effectively provide legal advice to the University College in order to inform decision making and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.<br \/>\nTo timely represent the University in legal matters in order to protect the interest of the University.<br \/>\nTo effectively undertake the preparation and review of legal documents and policies in order to ensure that they are legally sound and protect the interest of the University College.<br \/>\nAdvising the institution on regulatory framework with proper understanding of the main terms and conditions of Higher Education Authority, Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia and Health Professions Council of Zambia.<br \/>\nDrafting and negotiating simple and complex contracts including but not limited to those related to health training school industry.<br \/>\nAdvising on general business law issues and manage the legal issues of all areas of the company, including but not limited to corporate matters, procurement, safety, security, insurance and sustainability issues.<br \/>\nRepresent the institution as and when required in liaison with Human Resource and Administration unit.<br \/>\nEnsure the institution is compliant to labour laws and practices.<br \/>\nProactively maintain awareness of relevant laws and regulations among employees.<br \/>\nTo be the institution\u2019s Spokesperson<br \/>\nCANDIDATES REQUIREMENTS<br \/>\nGrade 12 Certificate with a minimum of five Credits or better in English and Mathematics<br \/>\nBachelor\u2019s Degree in Law<br \/>\nAt least 3 years practical experience<br \/>\nExcellent communication skills<br \/>\nCommitment, highly motivated and ethical<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
