JOB ADVERT \u2013 PROCUREMENT INTERN
\nLiving Water International (LWI) is a global Non-Governmental Organization that exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water, and experience \u201cliving water\u201d (the gospel of Jesus Christ) which alone satisfies the deepest thirst. Living Water provides\u00a0safe drinking water, Christian Witness, Sanitation and Hygiene Education to communities across Africa, Asia, Latin America & Caribbean.
\nLiving Water International Zambia, operates in five districts of Zambia: Lusaka, Chibombo, Chipata, Chipangali, and Kasenengwa.
\nA vacancy exists for one (01) Procurement Intern at our Country Office in Lusaka Province for a duration of three (03) months.
\nPosition Purpose
\nThe purpose is to provide support to the Procurement Department (Procurement Officer) by ensuring that all aspects of procurement for LWI Chipata WPA are efficiently and effectively managed.
\nRoles and responsibilities<\/p>\n
Assist in sourcing quotations from vendors in response to user department requests, ensuring all specifications are met.
\nAssist in the preparation and processing of purchase orders and requisitions, following established procurement guidelines.
\nInspect and verify delivered goods to ensure they meet the required specifications and compliance standards.
\nFollow all the policies of the LWI Procurement Manual and use all the procurement forms adequately.
\nConfirming compliance with procurement policy and internal controls on all procurement.
\nChecking that all procurement documents have adequate documentation.
\nHelping compare quotation prices received from various vendors to make sound purchasing decisions.
\nHelping to identify potential procurement requirements and check that all payment vouchers have all the necessary supporting documents before submitting to finance for processing.
\nCarrying out any other duties in the procurement as may be assigned by the supervisor.<\/p>\n
Minimum Education and Experience Competencies<\/p>\n
Diploma or Degree in Purchasing and Supply, Business Administration, or a related field.
\nZIPS membership is a requirement.
\nExperience working with an NGO will be an added advantage.
\nExperience in procurement procedures.<\/p>\n
Skills & Competencies<\/p>\n
Basic knowledge of Microsoft packages.
\nStrong analytical and organizational skills.
\nGood written and verbal communication skills.
\nAbility to work independently and as part of a diverse team.<\/p>\n
