We are seeking a Senior Human Resource Officer whose role is pivotal and is responsible for overseeing and executing key HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and policy implementation. The successful candidate will require leadership and problem-solving skills to support the organization\u2019s strategic HR objectives.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Organize and facilitate structured interview processes in collaboration with hiring managers.
\nDraft, review, and issue job offers, employment contracts.
\nLead onboarding and induction programs to integrate new employees effectively into the company culture.
\nMonitor employees during probation, conducting periodic evaluations and providing necessary support.
\nServe as the first point of contact for HR-related queries and concerns.
\nMediate and resolve workplace conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary cases in a fair and timely manner.
\nSupport initiatives that drive employee engagement, motivation, and retention.
\nMonitor and execute staff welfare and wellness programs to enhance employee satisfaction.
\nAssist in designing and implementing performance management frameworks.
\nSupport managers in conducting appraisals and provide feedback mechanisms for employee growth.
\nEnsure compliance with Zambian labour laws.
\nDraft, review, and enforce HR policies and procedures in line with company objectives.
\nMonitor adherence to internal policies and ethical standards, recommending updates where needed.
\nSupport the roll-out of new HR systems, processes, and initiatives.
\nProcess monthly payroll accurately and on time, including statutory obligations (NAPSA, NHIMA, PAYE).
\nLiaise with and manage the in-house pension scheme and other employee benefits.
\nSafeguard sensitive employee data, ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards and data protection.
\nHandle Human Resource matters and information with discretion.
\nProvide HR analytics and reports to management for informed decision-making.
\nChampion a positive workplace culture, diversity, and inclusion across the company.<\/p>\n
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in human resource management, Business Administration, or a related field.
\nA minimum of 5 years of professional experience in an HR generalist or Senior HR Officer role.
\nThorough knowledge of Zambian labour laws (The Employment Code Act, 2019) and HR best practices.
\nProven experience in Payroll software and computerised HR Information System (HRIS) environment.
\nExceptional communication (written and oral), organizational, and time-management skills.
\nHigh level of integrity, strong ethics, and proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
\nDemonstrated problem-solving and decision-making aptitude.<\/p>\n
