\nIn this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing daily income statements and balance sheets, assisting in the creation of annual financial reports and group reporting packs, and delivering insightful management accounts with performance commentary. Your expertise will help streamline intercompany transactions, coordinate tax filings, and ensure timely tax payments, all while liaising with auditors and regulatory authorities.

\nRoles and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Preparation of daily Income statement and balance sheet.
\nAssist in preparation of annual financial statements and group reporting pack.
\nPreparation of management accounts and accompanying performance commentary.
\nPreparation of intercompany transactions and balances report.
\nCo-ordinates preparation and submission of all tax returns for the Bank.
\nEnsures that tax for the Bank is paid when due.
\nAssist in preparation of monthly tax
\ncomputation and submission of provisional income tax returns.
\nCommunicates with the auditors and the Zambia Revenue Authority on tax issues for the Bank.
\nAssist in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
\nAssist in budget preparation and financial forecast.
\nProvide financial insights to support strategic decision making.
\nAnalyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
\nCoordinating with external auditors for annual audits.
\nReconciliation of general ledger balances and investigating discrepancies.
\nIdentifying and mitigating key finance risks.<\/p>\n
Experience, Qualifications and Skills<\/p>\n
Accounting degree\/ZICA\/ACCA\/CIMA
\nZICA membership.
\nAt least 5 years post-qualification professional experience.
\nStrong understanding of accounting principles and standards (GAAP, IFRS).
\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
\nAttention to detail and accuracy.
\nGood communication skills for reporting and liaising with stakeholders.
\nKnowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
\nEthical judgment and integrity.
\nBanking experience.
\nAdvanced Microsoft Office skills \u2013 experience in word processing, Excel and Power point presentations.<\/p>\n
Technical and Analytical Skills, Knowledge and Competencies<\/p>\n
Proficiency in preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, or other standards.
\nSkilled in using accounting and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
\nExperience in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
\nAbility to perform bank, ledger, and account reconciliations accurately.
\nUnderstanding of tax laws, filing procedures, and tax planning strategies.
\nStrong capability to identify discrepancies, errors, or inefficiencies and recommend solutions.
\nAbility to evaluate financial information critically and make informed decisions. Commitment to integrity, confidentiality, and ethical practices in handling financial data.
\nStaying updated with changes in accounting standards, financial regulations, and industry best practices.
