\nPRODUCT DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST: 2D \/ 3D DESIGN OF INJECTION-MOULDED PRODUCTS
\nWe are seeking to recruit a qualified and motivated Product Design Specialist to provide professional design services (2D and\/or 3D) for injection-moulded products on a Temporary Placement Contract for DGH Poly Products Limited, Lusaka, Zambia.
\nResponsibilities<\/p>\n
Develop product concept, detailed 2D drawings, and\/or 3D CAD models for specific injection-moulded plastic components.
\nEnsure designs align with moulding constraints, manufacturability, material specification, tolerances, and cost optimization.
\nWork collaboratively with our engineering\/manufacturing team to accommodate feedback and refine designs.<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience
\nApplicants must clearly demonstrate:
\n1.\u00a0Academic \/ Professional Qualifications<\/p>\n
Minimum: Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Mechanical Engineering \/ Industrial Design \/ Plastics Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
\nPreferable: Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0Relevant Practical Experience<\/p>\n
At least\u00a03-5 years\u00a0experience designing components for injection moulding (2D & 3D), including use of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, CATIA etc.).
\nDemonstrable portfolio of previous works showing injection-moulded product designs (with examples of manufacturability, tolerances, tool-path friendliness, etc.).
\nExperience with moulding plastics and understanding of material behaviour, shrinkage, draft angles, flow, cooling lines etc.<\/p>\n
3.\u00a0Technical Skills<\/p>\n
Strong CAD skills (3D modelling, 2D detailing).
\nAbility to produce files compatible with tool makers \/ mould makers.
\nGood communication (English), ability to interpret technical drawings \/ specifications.<\/p>\n
4.\u00a0Additional Attributes<\/p>\n
Attention to detail, meeting tight deadlines, ability to work with minimum supervision.
\nAbility to respond to feedback and revise designs quickly.
\nGood Interpersonal skills and a team player<\/p>\n
