We are now inviting applications from qualified and motivated individuals to join our Accounts team in Lusaka.<br \/>\nJob Opportunity: Accounts Assistant \u2013 Payables<br \/>\nLocation: Lusaka, Zambia<br \/>\nDepartment: Accounts<br \/>\nReports To: Company Accountant<br \/>\nJob Purpose<br \/>\nThe Accounts Assistant \u2013 Payables will support the Finance team in managing reinsurer premium transactions, maintaining accurate payable records, and ensuring timely generation of ledger cards. This role is vital to strengthening financial accountability and operational efficiency across reinsurance payables.<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Track and manage reinsurer premium payables, ensuring timely and accurate remittance to third parties<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Generate and update ledger cards reflecting premium movements and payment status<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Reconcile reinsurer accounts and statements<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Verify and process payment instructions within 24 hours of premium receipt, in line with contractual and internal controls<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Maintain organized records of reinsurance invoices and payment schedules<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Prepare periodic reports on reinsurer balances and payment performance<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Participate in month-end and quarter-end closing activities related to payables<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Post reinsurer credit notes and claims in Pastel Accounting System<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Manage petty cash float securely and maintain a detailed petty cash ledger<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensure all petty cash transactions are properly authorized, documented, and posted in Pastel<br \/>\nRequired Qualifications &amp; Skills<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Education: Grade 12 Certificate<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Degree in Accounting or equivalent (ACCA Level 2 , CIMA Advanced Diploma or CA Zambia Application )<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Experience: Minimum 2 years in a finance role, preferably within the insurance industry<br \/>\nTechnical Skills:<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Proficiency in Microsoft Excel<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Experience with Pastel Accounting Partner software<br \/>\nCore Competencies:<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Strong attention to detail and accuracy<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Excellent organizational and time management skills<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Clear and professional communication abilities<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
