{"id":5674,"date":"2025-10-08T08:00:17","date_gmt":"2025-10-08T08:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zambia\/job\/economist-at-bank-of-zambia\/"},"modified":"2026-01-09T00:14:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T00:14:11","slug":"economist-at-bank-of-zambia","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zambia\/?post_type=job_listing&p=5674","title":{"rendered":"Economist at Bank of Zambia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Bank of Zambia, an equal opportunity employer, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced Zambians for the following vacant position:<br \/>\nEconomist \u2013 3 POSTS\u00a0<br \/>\nGRADE: BoZM5<br \/>\nJob Purpose<br \/>\nTo provide analytical and statistical support to the department\u2019s overall mission of implementing monetary policy.<br \/>\nMain Accountabilities<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Produce reports in order to provide an input in the conduct of the department\u2019s operations.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Monitor liquidity flows in the banking system as well as financial market developments to support monetary policy operations.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Conduct short-term analysis of financial market developments to inform policy decisions on monetary policy implementation.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Compile financial market statistics to provide an input in the execution of the department\u2019s functions.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Liaise with stakeholders relevant to the operations of the department.<br \/>\nQualifications and Experience<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Grade 12 School Certificate with minimum five (5) \u2018O\u2019 Levels (credit or better).<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0BSc\/BA in Economics; Banking &amp; Finance or equivalent Three (3) years\u2019 relevant experience.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Professional certifications such as ACI, CFA, and FRM will be an added advantage.<br \/>\nKey Knowledge and Attributes<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In-depth knowledge of economics and financial markets.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Strong analytical and conceptual skills.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Strong writing skills.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ability to work in an intense deadline environment.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Interpersonal skills and ability to work harmoniously in a team.<br \/>\nCONDITIONS OF SERVICE<br \/>\nBank of Zambia Conditions of Service will apply.<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
