Are you ready to join a team that dreams as big as you do?<br \/>\nThe\u00a0key purpose\u00a0of the Process Artisan is operation of the process area according to work instructions, the execution of non- destructive quality checks and carrying out of routine maintenance. The process artisan has a primary focus on the asset care activities of the team<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nKey Roles and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>Operating the process area according to the work instructions and adhering to usage standards<br \/>\nCarrying out the required quality checks as described in the quality control and analysis work practice<br \/>\nRecording waste on the appropriate documentation or information systems, and reviewing waste trends to identify problems or opportunities timeously<br \/>\nConstantly reviewing process performance against target, and completing all short interval control documentation<br \/>\nResponding rapidly to upstream or downstream triggers that result in stoppages<br \/>\nAppropriate problem-solving approaches, as detailed in the problem-solving work practice must be followed<br \/>\nPerforming housekeeping tasks, applying 5s principles and following safe work practices<br \/>\nUnsafe work practices must be identified and corrected<br \/>\nAssisting fellow team members in the execution of their tasks<br \/>\nCarry out in-depth cleaning, lubrication and inspection of machines according to the work instructions, and following the schedules supplied by the maintenance planner<br \/>\nCarrying out routine maintenance activities according to the maintenance schedule. Where routine maintenance reveals larger problems, and the process artisan is unable to resolve these, it must be escalated to the team leader<br \/>\nTaking part in maintenance and cleaning days<br \/>\nThis work must be executed in support of the maintenance support team and in accordance with the schedule issued by the maintenance planner<br \/>\nTaking part in maintenance postmortems<br \/>\nThis must be done in support of maintenance specialist support<br \/>\nMonitoring trends when conducting routine maintenance<br \/>\nWhere trends indicate the existence of underlying problems, corrective action must be Quality Control and Analyses taken<br \/>\nThis corrective action may involve the SBU, the maintenance controller or maintenance support<br \/>\nWhen operating, the process artisan must carry out the non-destructive quality checks and analyses<br \/>\nThe list of checks to be carried out are contained in the work instructions<br \/>\nRecording the results of quality checks on the relevant documentation or information system<br \/>\nWhere production does not meet quality standards the process artisan must try to identify and resolve problems using the appropriate techniques<br \/>\nIf they are unable to resolve the problem themselves, it must be escalated to the team leader for further direction<br \/>\nActively participating in shift meetings, asking questions to test understanding and contributing suggestions<br \/>\nMaking use of the gap list to record issues, problems and improvement opportunities<br \/>\nFully understanding the team goals and participating in team goal review sessions<br \/>\nWhere FFA\u2019s have been initiated, the process artisan may be asked to participate<br \/>\nMaking use of relevant communication media (e.g. shift logbook) to stay<br \/>\ninformed and inform others of issues<br \/>\nProblem Solving* When problems occur, applying the appropriate techniques (e.g. 5y, quick fix routines etc.) the identify and correct the problem<br \/>\nWhere the process artisan is unable to resolve the problem, involve fellow team members or escalate to the team leader if necessary<br \/>\nWhere problems have been resolved, verify that the problems have been eliminated<br \/>\nContinuous Improvement Using run\/control charts and trend analysis, to identify sources of waste and variation in the process<br \/>\nUsing short stop analysis, Pareto charts and other tools seek to identify opportunities to simplify activities<br \/>\nWhere improvement opportunities have been identified, these must be recorded on the team gap list<br \/>\nThe process artisan should involve other team members in evaluating opportunities and call-in specialist resources to assist if required<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nKey Competencies<\/p>\n<p>Ability to solve problems on<br \/>\nFMCG machines<br \/>\nAbility to communicate technical knowledge to operation staff improving their skills sets<br \/>\nAbility to train, coach and mentor operation staff on ATO and 5\u2019s principles<br \/>\nAbility to optimise usages and reduce wastage with permanent solutions<br \/>\nInterpersonal Skills<br \/>\nWork in Teams and Collaborate<br \/>\nStrong self-management practices<br \/>\nAbility to problem solve using basic problem-solving tools (5 why fishbone) and involved in high level problem solving to identify root causes<br \/>\nand loop closures \u2013 AB Reports, SDCA, PDCA<br \/>\nAbility to reduce machine downtime to minimum while ensuring that all problems have permanent solutions<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nMinimum Requirements<\/p>\n<p>Diploma\/Advanced Certificate in Mechanical Engineering \/Technology or equivalent<br \/>\nMin \u2013 2-3 months on the job training, Ideal 3-6 months on the job training<br \/>\n1-2 years as a mechanical Artisan in similar industry\u201d (FCMG)<br \/>\n2-3 months Acting artisan in packaging will be an added advantage<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nAdditional Information:<\/p>\n<p>Band: X<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nAB InBev is an equal opportunity employer, and all appointments will be made in-line with AB InBev employment equity plan and talent requirements.
