\nAgricultural Officer \u2013 Mechanization Specialist
\nCaritas Czech Republic (CCR) is seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Agricultural Officer \u2013 Mechanization Specialist to join its new project \u2018ZAMAGRO: Mechanization & Innovation for Commercial Farming Growth in Zambia.\u2019 The successful candidate will play a key role in introducing and scaling Czech agricultural technologies within Zambia\u2019s emerging commercial farming sector, contributing to increased productivity, climate resilience, and sustainable rural development.
\nKey Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Provide\u00a0technical leadership and field-level support\u00a0for the deployment, demonstration, and adoption of Czech mechanisation technologies, including\u00a0equipment, irrigation systems, and post-harvest tools.
\n\u00a0Coordinate and support\u00a0installation, operation, and maintenance\u00a0of mechanised technologies across demonstration farms and partner service centres.
\nWork closely with Czech technical experts, specialists from relevant Zambian ministries, and local service providers to ensure effective localisation, adaptation, and use of mechanisation technologies.
\nSupport\u00a0training sessions for farmers, cooperative leaders, and technicians, and contribute to the development of user-friendly training materials and manuals.
\nSupport the collection and analysis of\u00a0technical performance data\u00a0from field sites to inform decision-making and scaling strategies.
\nLiaise withAgricultural Offices, demonstration hosts, and local stakeholders to adapt mechanisation solutions to\u00a0local agro-ecological conditions.
\nSupport the Project Coordinator in ensuring that mechanisation interventions are\u00a0technically sound, efficient, and scalable.<\/p>\n
Qualifications:<\/p>\n
Diploma or Bachelor\u2019s degree in\u00a0Agricultural Engineering, Mechanisation, Agronomy, or a related field (Master\u2019s degree is an advantage).
\nMinimum of 3 years of relevant experience in agricultural mechanization, technology transfer, or related development work.
\nPractical experience in operating and maintaining mechanised farm equipment, preferably in smallholder and emerging commercial farming contexts.
\nFamiliarity with training delivery, farmer capacity building, and the development of technical materials.
\nExcellent communication, analytical, and reporting skills
\nExperience working with international organisations, research institutions, or private sector technology providers is an asset.
\nFluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.<\/p>\n
